Physical: Athletic, lean 5-foot-9, 150lb frame with more strength on the way. 7.50 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Wider, slightly bent attack as the hands operated in rhythm by the head; utilized a quick leg-lift stride to initiate the bat head through a flat, high intent path into the hitting zone. Got rotational at impact, but blocked off properly holding his direction well through the baseball en route to a balanced, middle/pull approach during batting practice. Lightning fast hands and ability to turn tightly on the inner half, producing a T88 mph bat-exit velocity (via Trackman). Top of the order type skillset notching a 317 foot batted ball distance at his peak with doubles power available.
Defensively: The primary shortstop featured a hop in the prep step, gaining ground to his glove-hand side with above-average pace during defense. Able to release quickly with obvious arm strength for his size, getting rid with efficiency from a H ¾ slot (80 mph arm). Then moved out to the outfield, holding his own with natural reads in the air, staying behind the ball and getting down through with the chest on time. Fielded off his left side, funneling inward and delivered on-time from a high-intent, H ¾ slot to the plate at 84 mph (accurate).
3/06/21
Physical: 5’9 160lb MIF/RHP ran a 7.17 laser timed 60 yard dash. Athletic and strong in his undersized frame.
Offensively: He starts in a shoulder width stance with high hands as he uses a quick herky jerky motion to begin his hand load. He uses a short leg kick and drives off of his backside into the pitch. His barrel works flat through the zone as he stays inside of the ball consistently.
Defensively: He uses short and quick steps as he approaches the ball and funnels into the center of his body. His momentum gathers and drives towards his target as he makes most of his throws from a ¾ arm slot.
8/19/20
Physical: 5-foot-8, 155 pounds; small, physical build . 7.24 runner in the 60. Offensively: RHH. Neutral stance, feet shoulder width apart with bent knees ; small leg kick, strides slightly open. Clears hips, catches ball in front with short hand path, keeps hands tight on body with slight uphill path. Shot hard line drives and ground balls mainly through the 5-6 hole ; peak Trackman exit velocity of 85 MPH. Defensively: Low stance, uses bent knees to stay athletic ; took small prep steps along with a small prep hop, stays quick laterally. Soft hands that funnel directly to the belt into a solid transfer to throw ; high arm slot, solid hand speed . INF - 74 MPH. Pitching: Sets up on third base side of rubber but works into center as his delivery continues. Uses a long arm swing that allows him to load his scap into position to throw, high 3/4 slot . FB: T 79MPH, 77-79 MPH. Fastball played well throughout the entire zone, he was able to spot up on either corner. CB: 66-68 MPH. Curveball had tall shape to it, popping out of his hand initially. CH: 72-74 MPH. Changeup played well down in the zone with some late armside fade.
