Compact frame at 5-7, 160-pounds. Ran a 7.20 60-yard dash. Hits from a square athletic set up with high hands. Short quick laod with leg lift to hitting position. Shows nice balance in lower half inswing along with backside involvement. Take a short path at the plate with extension through contact and uphill finish. Exit velocity of 88 mph. Active feet in the outfield, sound hands and clean exchange with a longer arm action throwing from a three quarter slot. Throws are accurate at 81 mph. Solid prospect in the 2018 class that will help a program.

Wharton has an athletic swing that produces consistently sound contact. He has a simple stride and leg kick and is able to get the barrel on plane with the pitch early. He improved upon his lower half usage and should be able to put balls in the gaps from time to time. In the outfield, he doesn't set the ball up very well and has some trouble getting the ball out of his glove. Throws have average carry.

Short load at the plate with a slightly uphill bat path that gets around the ball at times. Shows quick bat speed and strength at the plate with power potential. Good balance, could get some more lower half involvement. Exit velocity of 85 mph. Active feet in the outfield with athletic actions. Clean hands shorter arm action with slight pause in arm. Throws had average carry at 79 mph and looks to have more in the tank.
