Chase Mazey: RHP/SS, (2023) Grosse Pointe South, MI. 6-foot-3, 185-pound. Smooth projectable on the mound, showed low ¾ arm angle and a short quick arm action with quick arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows easy effort. Tall balance point with even shoulders. Lands soft and open with an athletic finish. Curveball (72-74 mph), changeup (73-74 mph), slider (74-76 mph). Produced a fastball that came in at 83-85 mph with a max of 86 mph; (Max spin 2304; Avg 2200).
Pitching: On the mound sets up on the left side of the rubber taking a step left moving to his balance point throwing from a high 3/4 arm angle. Big time movement on the fastball shows a cut feel on the pitch. Mixed in a breaking ball to keep batters of balance. Pitches to contact, producing a lot of ground balls.
Pitching: On the mound a young prospect has a mound presence about himself. Holds the glove in front of his face with some play. Shows easy arm action with movement on his fastball working the inner half of the zone. Delivers from a high 3/4 arm angle. Change up shows some deception with similar arm speed as the fastball.
