6-foot-2, 185 pounds with a solid, athletic frame. Offers plenty of tools in the outfield. Registered a 6.91 60 yard dash time. Uses long arm action through a 3/4 slot, and topped out at 84 mph (has been up to 89 mph in the past). Uses smooth foortwork while attacking and playing through the ball. Left handed hitter that uses a slightly open stance with short stride. Uses a smooth left handed stroke that can drive the ball from gap to gap. Lower half works, allowing to create plenty of jump off his bat. Top exit velocity of 87 mph off the tee. One of the top outfielders in the 2015 class, and is worth keeping an eye on this spring/summer.
Jones put on a show in the outfield at TP Games. Above-average arm strength at 87mph. Played through ball well. Throws had life and carry. Long arm action with good levers. Arm should only get better. Projects to be 90+ from outfield soon. Fast-twitch athlete. Level swing with fast bat. Barreled up a lot of baseballs. Put himself on the map of a lot of schools. Needs to refine his game more.
Jones is an impressive athlete. A sophomore, he already stands at 6-foot, 180-pounds. Jones has aggressive quick-twitch movements in the outfield. He shows natural and quick instincts. Played through the ball well with good footwork. Throws from an over-the-top arm slot. Arm strength is above average for his age (86 mph). Good runner with a 4.25 home-to-first time from the left side. At the plate, he starts with his hands forward and uses them in his load. Has a rhythmic load with movement. Exit velocity was 82 mph. Jones has a good start with his skill set and athleticism. He is definitely an athlete to watch in the coming years.
Jones is raw on the mound at this point as he is learning how to pitch. He works from a high 3/4 slot and his fastball ranged between 79-82mph. Jones' velocity should make a jump as he improves his lower half and glove side. His breaking ball acts more like a slurve at this point. It ranges between 67-68mph.
