Spencer Verburg: C/1B, (2021) Grandville, MI. Central Michigan Commit, 6-foot-2, 195-pound. Athletic during batting practice, the right-handed hitter displayed an exit velocity of 100 mph, 2nd Highest at the event. Started in a balanced stance with a controlled load, then used a small leg kick. Has electric bat speed, flat swing plane and level finish. In his round he found multiple barrels with loud contact. Pull side approach. Behind the plate, his strong arm produced efficient throws to second at velocities up to 79 mph. Power: 100 mph exit velocity, average 88.99 mph. 70.25 mph bat speed average. 22.52 mph hand speed average. Ranks #2 with ev at the event. 

Arm: 79 mph catcher velocity. 

Speed: 7.20 (60-yard).


Hitting:  Balanced approach with a slight knee bend, small front leg lift load. Works the middle and opposite field. Contact hitter that goes to the back side. 


6-foot-1, 170 pound prospect has an athletic frame. At the plate had an impressive round of BP. Made consistent hard contact while driving the baseball up the middle and to LF.


6-foot-1, 160 pound catching prospect. At the plate has a wide stance using a toe tap and stride to load. Keeps his hands back swinging on a downhill plane. Showed a line drive up the middle approach posting an exit velocity of 87 MPH. Behind the plate receives the ball with one hand throwing with a short arm from a 3/4 arms slot down to second base. Showed good accuracy on his throws, posting pop times of 2.28-2.34 and a position velocity of 75 MPH.


6-foot-1, 160 pound prospect has a projectable build that should continue to fill out over the years. Behind the plate sits low with his hips wide. Receives well with soft hands moving to his throw quickly. Showcased strong blocking skills keeping the ball in front of him. At the plate sets up with a wide stance keeping his hands back. Strides towards the pitcher keeping his hands inside the zone. Tends to hit the middle or top of the ball producing grounders or line drives.
