RHP Adam Kilburn (Oakville) cemented his status as one of the top arms in the 2025 class this spring, sitting at sixth in this update and committing to Tennessee this summer. Kilburn’s held upper-80s heat throughout the calendar year, showcasing electric stuff at the St. Louis Gamers Scout Day this winter and also in a complete game shutout effort this spring where he punched out 15. He’ll spin a tight mid-70s slider to compliment his fastball, ripping it off with confidence and throwing it around the zone in our looks. Kilburn’s competitiveness and mound presence is evident, and the 6-foot-1, 170-pound right-hander is one of the best arms the state’s current sophomore class has to offer.
9/12/21
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 6-foot, 155-pound athletic and lean frame with room for added strength and size in the future
Hit: RHH. At the plate starts with a very open stance and athletic posture. Hands get set at shoulder height back deep with a slightly wrapped barrel. Quick two tap stride with short weight stack into the back leg. Works the lower half well underneath the ball with a scissor style back foot drive into a slightly bent front leg. Hands work quickly through the zone. Gets the barrel into the zone quickly and matches plane with the pitch effectively.
Power: 83 mph exit velocity in BP.
Arm: RH. INF-85 mph. High ¾ arm slot with a short and quick arm action.
Defense: In the infield attacks the ball with active feet and direct routes to the ball. Fields the ball out in front of the body with developing glove action and a firm glove. Shows good backhand technique. Throws have good carry and accuracy to the bag.
Run: 7.41 runner in the 60.
Delivery: On the mound uses a rocker style delivery with deliberate movements and slight stall out before the leg lift. Short lean forward at the top of the delivery. Works from the far first base side of the rubber and strides directionally down the center of the mound with good momentum headed towards the target. Pace picks up on the leg swing with hands breaking straight back out of the glove at the top of the balance point.
Arm Action: High ¾ arm slot with a clean arm action.
FB: 82-84 mph, gets a lot of riding life through the top of the zone with strong spin metrics.
SL: 66-70 mph, slurvy shape with a 11/5 action.
CB: 65-67 mph, 12/6 shape with good downard depth and feel for spin.
CH: 71 mph, slight arm side fading action with slightly slower hand speed.
