The backstop for the reigning 6A state champions, C Bo Jonas (Liberty North, 2024) sits at eighth on our updated board. Jonas has bat and arm strength attached to a sturdy 5-foot-10, 200-pound frame, generating most of it from a thick lower half. We’ve seen him barrel a few loud batted balls in the past and uncork accurate throws with carry from behind the plate, popping as best as a 1.90 at an event last year. Committed to Oklahoma, Jonas figures to be an integral part of Liberty North’s plans to repeat as state champs, and we’re eager to see the strides he’ll make from now until then.
Bo Jonas: C/RHP, (2024) Liberty North, MO. 5-foot-10, 175-pound athletic frame. At the plate, Jonas best exit velocity was 86 mph. Begins in an athletic stance with a big load, then uses a big leg kick to initiate his swing. Has upward swing plane, explosive bat speed and level finish. He found lots of barrels with loud contact. Pull side approach. While catching, had quick feet and transfers on his throw downs, recording a 1.90-2.00 pop time, throw downs to second were maxed at 75 mph; had next Level hands, a quick exchange and smooth footwork. Some flexibility and clean setup.From an-over-the-top slot, showed consistent accuracy to the bag with a short arm action. Recorded a 60 time of 7.6 at the event.
