8/17/14 – Kaplan is an athletic, strong 6-foot-2, 200-pound right-hand hitting outfielder. He posted a home-to-first time of 4.50. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with short arm action. His throws were very accurate with good carry. Brady has very quick fluid feet and attacks the ball. His position velo was 80 MPH. At the plate, Kaplan has an athletic setup with a smooth load and long stride. He keeps a level bat with a strong lower half. Brady uses the middle of the field well and hits a lot of line drives. He also shows some pull power. Kaplan had an exit velo of 86 MPH.
2/17/14 is an athletic, wide-shouldered 6-foot-2 205-pound outfielder. Kaplan is showing improve in all phases of the game. He ran a 4.31 home-to-first shows signs of increased strength at the plate and in the outfield. Defensively, he has an over-the-top arm slot and put all throws on target. He has a clean, quick transfer with a positional velo of 79 MPH. During the hitting evaluations, Kaplan showed the ability to hit in both gaps with good backspin carry. He has a simple load with good bat speed to extension. He registered an 88 MPH exit velo, showing good power potential. He runs a 4.31 home-to-first.
'10/19/13 - Kaplan is a solidly built 6-foot-2, 200-pound 1B/OF. At the plate he has a wide stance, short stride and short simple load. During batting practice he showed a short, but powerful swing delivering a series of hard hit line drives. He has very good balance throughout his swing. His exit velocity was clocked at 86 mph. In game 2, Kaplan went 1 for 3 with a walk and line-out to shortstop. In the outfield he showed average feet but good hands resulting in clean exchanges on his throws. He ran a 4.73 home to 1B. Kaplan is also an outstanding student with a 3.98 GPA.
