Hit: LHH. Athletic, wide base. Starts slightly open with his hands resting on his shoulder. Controlled leg lift and hand load into a medium stride. Back foot finish. Level swing plane. Quick hands through the zone with extension. Feel for the barrel, uses all fields. 61.4 mph bat speed with 6 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 84 max exit velocity, averaged 80.3 mph. 304' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-87 mph. Short high-3/4 arm action. Clean release with carry.
Defense: Fluid defender, easy actions with good glove. Lateral range with ability to make plays from multiple arm angles.
ATH: 7.45 runner in the 60. 1.77 in the 10 yard split. 27.80 max vertical.
INF Drew Messey (Westminster Christian, 2026) was another incoming freshman that impressed at this event. There's plenty of room for him to fill out his 5-foot-11, 150-pound frame as he continues to grow, and he showed a natural feel to elevate the baseball from the left side of the plate in BP. Messey's sure-handed actions played well on the infield and he fired a 75 mph high across the diamond from a loose, athletic arm slot.
