A former PBR Future Games participant, RHP Kai Bennett (Liberty, 2023) showed well yet again at Sunday’s event. At 6-foot-4, 200-pounds, Bennett boasts traditional starter’s size and uses it to produce mid-to-high-80s velocity with his fastball, topping at 88 mph yesterday. Bennett’s aptitude to spin is evident - he averaged 2,451 RPM on his fastball and spun a 73-76 mph breaking ball at 2,600+ RPM, too. It was another quality look at one of the top uncommitted pitching prospects in Missouri’s senior class.

7/11/22

Sturdy 6-foot-4, 200-pound frame; starter’s build. Entered in relief for Building Champions on Sunday afternoon. Fired his fastball for strikes at 84-86 mph, ran and sunk it on occasion. Turned to a 75-76 mph slider with two-plane break from a high release point as his primary secondary pitch. Another former PBR Future Games participant in Missouri that’s still uncommitted.

7/14/20

Showcased present athleticism with a projectable 6-foot-3, 185-pound frame and room for added strength. The right-handed hitter starts from a wide, athletic stance using a fully body load to initiate a slight uphill path through the zone. Utilizes his long lower-half to generate some lift and power to gaps during BP. Hard line-drive contact with a 77 mph bat-exit velocity. The primary middle infielder shows clean footwork working around the ball and sure hands to field. Made accurate 80 mph throws across the diamond from a long ¾ arm action.

Projectable frame on the mound. Works from a deliberate and controlled delivery reaching a consistent athletic balance point. Good direction down mound with extension towards home plate. Arm action is long, releasing from a ¾ slot. Fastball has a slight downhill plane at 80-83 T84 mph for strikes. Curveball shows sharp 10/4 action with tight spin at 68-71 mph. Changeup has run and sink action at 71-73 mph.
