Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
+ RHP Tyler Holman (Liberty, MO, 2024) made the trip up to Rantoul from the St. Louis area and the 6-foot-4, 180-pound long-levered right-hander brought one of the higher ceilings in attendance to the mound. Holman, who’s still fully developing his feel down the mound, pumped his fastball at an easy, lively 87-90 mph, peaking at 91 mph on his firmest bullet with plenty more to come. He spun a tighter low-70s breaking ball at 2500+ RPM at peak and flashed a 78-79 mph changeup, too. Shortly after the event, Holman committed to the University of St. Louis.

Body: 6-3, 175-pounds. Delivery: Tall/fall type delivery, upright at balance point, polished lower-half downhill, level shoulders and maintains direction to target. Arm Action: Arm lags some on the backside, continuous path to a high 3/4 slot. FB: 82.6-86.5, T87 mph. Easy out the hand with more velocity to come; averaged 20+ inches of vertical carry. T2,487, 2,335 average rpm. CB: 63.7-68.4 mph. Thrown with conviction and from a high slot, above-average feel to spin with raw spin. T2,460, 2,316 average rpm. CH: 72.9-78.6 mph. Maintains intent and arm slot to fastball. Played with present arm-side run (14 inches of horizontal movement on average) T2,217, 2,095 average rpm.

Positional Profile: OF/RHP
Body: 6-foot-4, 160-pound long-limbed and projectable frame with room for more strength in the future
Hit: RHH. At the plate starts with a wide base and upright posture in the upper body. Hands get set at shoulder height with a slightly wrapped barrel. No stride swing with weight shift into a slightly bent front leg. Rotational path with the upper body and lower body working well in sync together. Hits with some leverage and shows some strength at contact. Hands work quickly through the zone.
Power: 89 mph exit velocity in BP.
Arm: RH. OF-81 mph. ¾ arm slot with a longer arm action.
Defense: In the outfield prefers to sit back on the ball and play the hop with some glove action. Fields the ball with two hands in front of the body. Utilizes a shuffle crow hop technique with slight momentum headed towards the target.
Run: 7.35 runner in the 60.
Delivery: On the mound uses a quick rocker style delivery with the footwork. Works from the middle of the rubber and strides directionally down the center of the mound with good momentum headed towards the target. Heavy weight lean into the back leg with short push off the rubber. Long strides down the mound with hands breaking from the glove at the top of the delivery.
Arm Action: ¾ arm slot with a longer arm action
FB: 78-80 mph, mostly straight shape with strong spin metrics
SL: 66-69 mph, slurvy shape with some late bite to the glove side.
CH: 77 mph, firm changeup with fastball hand speed.
