A do-it-all type prospect that played a key role in the success that Francis Howell saw this spring, UTL Tytus Cissell (2024; Missouri commit) wraps up the top 10. A 6.70 runner who switch-hits, Cissel easily repeats a short, athletic swing from both sides that’ll likely grow into more power as he fills out his 6-foot-1, 165-pound frame. He’s a stable presence defensively on the infield with steady hands and athletic actions to pair, as evidenced by an unbelievable diving snag he made in a clutch moment during the 6A state semifinals. Expect Cissell to have yet another impactful spring for the Vikings, especially with a full off-season under his belt.

Positional Profile: SS
Body: 6-1, 165-pounds. Long and lean build with present athleticism.
Hit: SH. Starts with a slightly open stance and upright posture with hands getting set just below shoulder height. Strong load into the lower half with a leg lift stride from the right side of the plate and more traditional stride from the left side of the plate.  Hands work quickly through the zone and shows good overall bat speed.  Lower half works rotationally through the zone into a firm front leg.  Hands work well to the inside part of the ball with a slight uphill bat path.  Strides slightly closed from the left side of the plate with more rotation in the core.
Power: 91.1 max exit velocity, averaged 82.6 mph. 321’ max distance.
Arm: RH.  INF - 85 mph.  High 3/4 arm slot with a short and quick arm action.
Defense: Attacks the ball with smooth rhythm and a feel for routes working around the ball.  Fields the ball out in front of the body with good glove action and soft hands.  Shows good lateral range and clean footwork on double play turns.  Strong slow roller technique and shows the ability to field the ball well on the run.
Run: 6.76 runner in the 60.

Body: 6-foot-1, 158-pound athletic and projectable frame

Hit: SWITCH.  At the plate starts with a slightly open stance and athletic posture.  Hands get set right at shoulder height slightly tucked into the body.  Smooth rhythm and good connection between the upper and lower body.  Hands work direct to the ball and shows the ability to get to good extension.  Mechanics are very similar from both sides of the plate.  Barrel is whippy through the zone and has good overall bat speed.  Very well put together line drive approach with good balance throughout the swing.  Has some current strength at contact.

Power:  93 mph exit velocity in BP.

Arm: INF-81 mph.  High ¾ arm slot with a short arm action and quick release.

Defense: In the infield attacks the ball with a feel for routes working around the ball with active feet.  Fields the ball out in front of the body with a developing glove action and soft hands.  Shows the ability to field the ball well on the move and shows good lateral range.

Run: 6.70 runner in the 60.
