Uncommitted. Vetter worked a short and quick inning on Sunday in relief. This short look still showed why Vetter is one of the top uncommitted arms. He gave hitters real trouble with multiple swings and misses coming from both his fastball and slider. His fastball was consistently 88-90 (T91) with tons of life as well as arm side run that came back late into the zone. The bread and butter, though, was the slider, which was making the hitters look foolish and generating some defensive swings. He could flip it in for a strike a bury it, it did not matter. The slider was 77-79 with 2800+ RPMs. It had late break and was sharp tunneling very well off the FB. Vetter is one who could could be receiving some big calls on August 1st.
