Uncommitted ‘21 Corbin Hawkins (RHP, Millard West) went the distance, allowing one run and striking out nine. Hawkins was 84-86 in the early innings before settling in at 81-84. His high ¾ arm slot produces decent late armside run. He leverages his 6-foot-2 frame and clean arm action to have a clean release out-front. Hawkins mixed in both CB and SL, the slider being the more polished pitch of the two at 71-74 with tight break. Hawkins pounded the zone the whole day, walking none and rarely going deep into counts. 

6-foot-2, 175 pound two way player ran a 7.38 60 yard sprint. Ranked #12 in the Nebraska 2021 rankings. On the mound, topped out at 80 mph with his fastball, running life through zone. Solid 11/5 breaking ball with tight spin and depth. Above avg. CH with good arm speed thrown in the 70-71 mph range. Timing was off during round of BP. Steep inverted barrel path, occasional hook topspin contact to pull-side. Posted an 80 mph exit velocity off a tee. Athletic fluid actions in the infield, hands work clean and threw accurately across. Went 1-3 during the game portion of the Elite 50.

6-foot-2, 175 pound two way player ran a 4.7 home to first. Ranked #12 in the Nebraska 2021 rankings. Athletic build, steep uphill barrel path, pull side pop, snap hook contact. Posted an 85 MPH exit velocity. Easy actions in the infield, simple hands and feet, works through the ball. Topped out at 79 MPH across throwing accurately to the bag. On the mound, topped out at 83 MPH with his fastball, slight run action, free and easy quick arm.  Sharp 10/6 shaped breaking ball with depth, tight spin, late action. Feel for bottom of the zone with change up, slight run. High follow for the 2021 class as he continues to develop physically.

2/19/18- 6-foot-1, 155 pound two-way player ran a 4.21 H-1B. Tall slightly open stance at the plate. Leg kick trigger. Loose whippy linear barrel path during round of BP. Hard contact to pull side during round of BP. Behind the plate threw to 2nd in the 2.12-2.63 range. Sporadic accuracy. Off center set up, high hips, athletic feet when blocking, receives the ball out front, strong hands. On the mound topped out at 76 mph with his fastball. Short arm path, occasional cut action, mostly straight. 11/5 SL is solid when out front, lands easy for strikes. CH has fade, straight action, lacks cut or sink, tends to drag arm slightly. Strong follow for the 2021 class.
