Throws his hands into the hitting zone. Showed consistent hard contact to the middle of the field. Stays balanced throughout his swing. Has a one hand follow through. Top exit velocity was 83 MPH. Defensively- has an aggressive approach to the baseball. Shows a quick exchange and a quick release from a mid ¾ arm slot. Does a good job following his throws. Shows an accurate arm. Moves well laterally. Top throwing velocity was 75 MPH.

CNY ASG (September 30, 2018)

Proportional build at 5-foot-11, 155-pounds. Offensively – Narrow, upright stance with feet square to the pitcher. Quick leg kick to get into forward stride. Hands start high with some bat wiggle before working down and getting on plane with the ball. Barrel stayed level thru the zone and generated line drive contact during BP. Low, 2-handed finish. Defensively – Active feet on defense. Controlled pace to fielding actions. Keeps head down while funneling ball into throwing motion. Uses side shuffle to create momentum on throws. Short, clean arm action from ¾ release. Backside could be more aggressive working thru throws. Pitching – Simple, repeatable delivery with low effort throwing actions. Slight hesitation to tempo while getting out of leg lift. Drives off of back side with consistent direction towards target. Loose, clean arm action from low ¾ slot. Rotational, upright finish with limited extension out front.

Last Chance Preview (October 14, 2017)

Murray stands in at 5-foot-10, 148-pounds. Ran a 8.34 – 60. Offensively- Good trigger prior to the pitch. Bat path cuts down through the zone making it tough to square up. More of a level plane would make for more consistent contact. Shows good lower body rotation. Recorded an exit velocity of 78 MPH. Defensively- Good approach and footwork to the baseball. Could field the ball more out in front of the body. Quick transition from glove to throwing position with aggressive footwork towards intended target. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 69 MPH. Pitching- Shows a mid thigh leg raise into separation. Could use more of a pitching arm swing with more lower body engagement to get down the mound. Fastball was 66-69 MPH and peaked at 69 MPH showing arm side run.
