7/25/2017

6-foot,200-pound right-handed hitting corner infielder who, once again, showed very well. The bat has plus life to it, tee exit velocity of 91 mph. The hands are fast and they have good strength to them. Hits out of a wide base, small toe tap and clean hand path to the ball. The path can be flattened a bit for better plate coverage and less top spin.. Chance to hit for power at the next level. Ran a 4.8 down the line on his dig to first base. Defensively, the foot work to and through the ball in done correctly. The glove is solid, can make the drop step play and handles the slow roller. Threw 81 mph across the diamond out of a lower than ¾ arm slot with run and accuracy.  Solid player across the board.

NY Games (June 25-27, 2017)

Athletic 6-foot-2, 200-pound frame; fluid swing, loose and easy, maintains level bat plane through the zone and ends with full extension for an exit velocity of 88 MPH, repeatable motion with appropriate pre-pitch movement, full engagement of lower half will release more power. Defensively - soft hands, effective pre-pitch movement, agile footwork, looks comfortable making exchange glove to throwing hand and finishes within an infield velocity of 82 MPH.
Preseason All-State (February 20, 2017)
Circelli stands at an athletic 6-foot-2, 200 pounds. Had a 60 yard dash time of 7.11 seconds, showing continued improvement from previous events. Offensively- Begins with feet wider than shoulder width and knees slightly bent with an open stance. Hands are at back shoulder height. Front foot comes back to middle of body before striding forward and landing even as hands load backwards. Hands attack inside of ball. Swing has slight uphill plane. Strong extension through contact, allowing him to drive the ball. Small weight transfer forward before hips become rotational during his swing. Two handed finish that ends just above front shoulder. Had an exit velocity of 97 MPH off of the tee, a 5 MPH improvement from previous best. Defensively- Approaches the ball with smooth actions. Fields ball with feet wide and bent slightly at the knees. Left foot is dropped back when fielding the ball. Fields ball out in front of body. Uses a double shuffle towards target to initiate throws. Had throws of 84 MPH across the diamond with a traditional ¾ arm slot, continuing the steady improvement of his throwing velocity. 3B projection but runs well enough to possibly add a corner OF spot to his resume if needed.
Academic Games- MA (August 21, 2016)

Best showing of all the positional players at the workout. Defensively, can stay at third base, good on the slow roller play and showed the ability to drop step and make the 6-hole play.  Glove is solid, threw 82 mph across the diamond with accuracy and carry to his throws. The foot speed is good, ran a 4.39 down the line on his dig in the game. Swung the bat very well in the game, squaring up a number of baseballs. Tee exit velocity of 92 mph. The setup is slightly open even feet start. The grip of the bat is semi-split with his hands. The bottom half is under control and the path is compact to the ball. Excellent looking prospect, as the frame projects very well, should fill out nicely.

Eastern NY Prospect Preview (August 2, 2016)
Circelli stands in at 6-foot-1; 190 pounds with a strong, thick, athletic frame. Recorded a 7.21 60 – a 0.25 improvement from July 2015. Offensively- Starts slightly open with weight shifted on back side with his hands just above his back shoulder. On pitch his trigger is a quiet step to square up with his hands moving back slightly into a good hitting position. Bat path is quick to the hitting zone straight at the ball with good barrel acceleration through the zone to a high two handed finish. Great rotation with his lower half. Gets his hands into the zone very quick and displays power potential with a recorded 90 mph exit velocity. Defensively- Good setup and approach to the baseball. Keeps feet moving throughout the process allowing him to get in good position to funnel the ball and move towards his throwing target. Good transfer from the glove into the throwing position with an appropriate arm swing for an infielder. Recorded a position arm velocity of 80 mph.
Beat-The-Heat Showcase (July 16, 2015)
