2/20/22

Physical: XL 6-foot-2, 220lb frame with an imposing presence on the mound.

Pitching: RHP - Lots of strength off of the left side of the rubber, starting slightly sideways and utilizing pace in the delivery. Hides the ball well with hip-coil at the stack and phases down the slope with a thick lower-half pushing off the mound aggressively. The arm worked quickly from a power H ¾ slot and created heavy action on a 91-92 mph FB into the zone. Flashed a short, late 80-82 mph SL at 2528rpms that has been a weapon in-game and showcased a mid 80’s CH with arm-side fade characteristics.

6/30/21

Physical: The USC-Upstate commit stands an imposing 6-foot-2, 220lbs on the bump with strength carried throughout.

Pitching: RHP - Started off the left side of the rubber with consistent pace in the delivery; used a glove tap for rhythm, getting to a higher stack (slight hip coil) before driving down with rotational violence into footstrike. Repeated well, blocking off the front-side firmly and released from a power H ¾ slot, hiding the baseball. The FB ranged from 87-89 mph on this date showing plenty of carry up to T2317rpms via Trackman. Mixed in a sharp, swing/miss 75-78 mph SL near 2500rpms that dodged barrels and got awkward swings, manipulating shape at times. Then added a commanded 81-83 mph CH at 1508rpms that faded heavily to arm-side for weak contact. Two above-average offerings and the SL can show plus at times.

9/11/20

Physical: 6-foot-1, 220 pounds; big bodied, strong frame.
Pitching: Repeatable mechanics, holds torso rotation until the last minute so he can produce good hip-shoulder separation. Long, easy arm action from a 3/4 slot. FB: Peak velo of 89 MPH, while sitting 86-89 MPH. Displayed a FB with exceptional life and high spin, could be thrown up in the zone late in the count. SL: 77-78 MPH. Mixed in a hard SL with good glove side tilt, swing and miss pitch. CH: 78-80 MPH. Throws a high spin CH that tunnels well off his FB.

8/02/20

Physical: Strong and durable 6-foot-1, 220-pound frame with advanced physicality throughout the lower half / increased mound presence and a bulldog mentality on the bump.

Pitching: RHP - Side rocker step with moderate pace throughout the delivery, medium leg lift with hip coil while staying through a powerful backside on the leg drive creating advanced direction and downhill plane on a heavy 86-88 T89 mph FB. Up to 2392 rpms of spin generating weak contact in the zone and swing and miss action above the belt, paired it with a sharp, two-plane 76-78 mph SL showing 2421 rpms according to Trackman Baseball. High strikeout potential and commanded the zone with each … Could add a third pitch (changeup) to give him something similar to the FB out of the hand, but the stuff is well above average at the moment.

7/06/20

Physical: 6-foot-1, 210 pounds; big, physical frame. 7.85 runner in the 60.

Offensively: RHH. Athletic, balanced stance; hands load back along with a small stride. Average effort with flat path to the ball finishing slightly uphill.  Plenty of hard pull side contact; peak Trackman exit velocity of 96 MPH.

Defensively: Starts upright; smooth, consistent footwork, stays low and plays ground up. Smooth hands, clean transfer; long arm swing with a high 3/4 arm slot.   OF - 84 MPH.

Pitching: Simple, rhythmic delivery with a leg lift to his waist and a slight hip coil, strides off his back side and gets downhill. Moderate take back with a high 3/4 arm slot. FB: Peak velo of 89 MPH, while sitting 86-89 MPH. Locates down with arm side action.  SL: Late, tight break. CH: 79 MPH. Maintains hand speed with arm side fade.

2/17/20

Physical: 6-foot-1, 210-pounds. Strong, athletic build.
Run: 8.16 runner in the 60.
Hit: RHH. Tall stance; somewhat upright; leg lift into short stride; two-handed high finish; hands are very relaxed Middle of the field to pull side tendencies; consistent hard line drives; quick hands.
Power: 85 MPH raw exit velocity. Lots of pop to pull side; loud contact.
Defense: Moves laterally well for size; fields the ball out front; hop for timing; good footwork as he works to get around the ball; able to play on the run.
Arm: Smooth long arm swing; lower 3/4 arm slot. INF - 75 MPH.

Pitching Delivery: Up tempo, builds momentum with high leg lift, stays tall through stride out, keeps shoulders in line before pulling through to a balanced follow through.
Arm Action: Long, fluid arm action to a 3/4 release.
FB: T84, 81-84 MPH. Downhill plane with ride through the zone.
CB: 69-69 MPH. 12-6 with sharp, late break.
SL: 71-72 MPH. Tight late break.
CH: 73-73 MPH. Good hand speed with arm side fade.

7/12/18

Athletic body, tall with lower half upside. Fluid tempo with lower leg drive down the mound. High ¾ arm slot with positive arm action. FB has consistent armside run and is able to work both sides of the plate effectively. FB is 68-70 with a peak velo of 72. Has mound presence and pitchability with projectable upside.
