Physical: 6-foot-1, 160 pounds; Lean, athletic build.
Pitching: Playfair uses an arm side setup while using a side step. Mid chest leg drive with a full coil away from the plate. Has a long stride landing inline with the plate. Long arm swing while showing some scap load, working through a low 3/4 slot. Square to the plate with finish. FB: Peak velo of 85 MPH, while sitting 83-85 MPH; life through the zone. CB: 65-68 MPH; slurve like action. CH: 72-74 MPH; fading action.
Physical: The recent St. Bonaventure commit stands 6-foot-1, 160lbs with long, projectable proportions.
Pitching: RHP - Taller start off the far left side of the rubber with consistent pace in the delivery. Got to a higher, hip-coiled stack hiding the ball on his move down the slope with a quick stab in the back. High ¾ slot on the way through with extension out front, landing into a firm front-side at release. The FB ranged from 80-82 mph and featured good spin traits (2300+) for strikes to arm-side. Mixed a lateral, sweeping 63-65 mph CB on a similar 11/5 tilt and then faded a 70-72 mph CH with killed action out of the hand (low spin). Feel for three and attacked early/often.
Physical: Lengthy, projectable 6-foot-1, 160lb frame with ready athleticism on the bump.
Pitching: RHP - Started off the far left side of the rubber with above-average tempo in the delivery. Sudden draw into a fluid H ¾ slot, releasing quickly on the front-side while blocking off the front side properly. Held direction, landing an 83-86 mph FB for strikes at a 44% clip (T2319rpms) and mixed a sharp, sweeping curveball at 65-67 mph (T19 inches HM via Trackman). A short-fading 74-76 mph CH tunneled effectively out of the same FB slot at 1616rpms.
Physical: 6-foot-1, 160 lb wiry frame
Pitching: Builds momentum well with a turn on the leg lift before accelerating down the mound in line getting quality hip-shoulder separation finishing against a strong front side. Arm works quick out of the glove pulling back before getting to a clean 3/4 release
FB: Has life out of the hand flashing ride through the top of the zone. CB: 11-5 shape with up to -9" vertical drop and 7" horizontal movement. CH: Flashes arm side fade.
Physical: 6-foot-0, 155-pounds. Lean, athletic build .
Pitching Delivery: Builds momentum with leg lift just above the belt while turning closed, gets in line on stride out to a balanced, repeatable finish.
Arm Action: Hands start out in front of back shoulder, long arm action pulling down and back out of the glove getting up to a high 3/4 release.
FB: T82, 79-82 MPH. Commands low in the zone with some natural tail.
CB: 60-62 MPH. 11-5 shape with depth.
CH: 64-64 MPH. Arm side fade.
The 2022 right handed pitcher displayed a repeatable delivery. Playfair worked with three pitches during live game action at the 2019 Fall Top Prospect games. Every pitch moves for Playfair, especially his FB with late arm side run. FB peaked at 80 MPH. CB range was 63-65 MPH and CH ranges from 64-67 MPH. The 2022 RHP throws from a mid 3/4 arm slot. Playfair is a must follow as he continues to devleop.
A projectable 6-foot-0 Tall, 148 pounds. Pitching- The RHP displayed a repeatable delivery and has a projectable live arm. Delivery has some tempo. Keeps his front side closed throughout the delivery. Drives downhill with low effort. FB has late life and shows command of a FB down in the zone. FB peaked at 81 MPH. Breaking ball has late break ranging from 62-65 MPH. The 2022 graduate has tons of upside and is one to watch as he continues to develop.
A lean projectable frame at 5-foot-11, 145 pounds. Pitching- Displayed a fast short arm action. Delivery has some tempo. Could get more use of lower half with more leg drive. Smooth hand separation.CB is sharp and down in the zone. FB has late life. Peaked at 79 MPH. CB ranged from 63-65 MPH. CH 61-63 MPH. With some strengthening and development on the mound. The 2022 graduate has a live arm and is projectable.
