Binghamton commit. 5-foot-9, 155-pound left-handed hitter starts from a square stance and utilizes a lift-and-replace stride to begin. Displayed a direct swing path while getting on plane early. Showcased a middle of the field approach. Prototypical top of the order hitter with above average barrel awareness. Registerd a bat exit velocity of 87 mph and ran a 6.71 60-yard dash. Showcased easy, fluid athleticism in all of his actions including gliding around the outfield. Foot speed and 86 mph arm strength will both play nicely in center field at the next level.

5-foot-9, 155-pounds, lean build, athletic with easy reads in OF, plays position with confidence. Short arm action, with above average arm strength (83) with carry. in the box he uses a even stance, quiet hands, strong wrists, loose fluid swing path from the left-side showing power to the gaps. Deep drive to dead CF in inning 1, great show of speed to get a triple. Ran a 6.88 60-yard dash.

Last Chance Preview (November 18, 2017)

Perez stands in at 5-foot-9, 150-pounds with a lean athletic frame. Ran a 6.59 60-yard dash showing premium athleticism. Offensively- Lefty sets up square to the pitcher with a wide stance. Uses body momentum to aid with his trigger, hands are loose. Short and quick to the hitting zone with a level barrel path through contact. Demonstrated line drive ability up the middle and to the pull side. Fluid swing with high end potential. Will improve with added strength. Recorded an exit velocity of 82 MPH, a 2 MPH increase since October 2016. Defensively- Shows a good approach and footwork to the baseball. Fluid through the ball gaining ground and using his body momentum in the throw. Shows a quick first step with a projectable arm. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 88 MPH, an 8 MPH improvement from October 2016. Overall, Perez is making the most of his opportunities and rising fast up our 2019 rankings.

Downstate Fall Preview (October 2, 2016)

Perez, a 2019 left-handed hitting athletic outfielder with MLB ties, son of former NY Met Timo Perez, stands at 5-foot-7 and weighs 135 pounds, he ran an event best
6.95 60. Offensively- Evenly balanced base with a slight crouch. Hands begin above the back shoulder with the barrel parallel to the ground. Uses a slight shift to initiate the swing while creating good hand separation and getting the barrel into an upright position off the back shoulder. Hands drop slightly on approach to the ball, but is able to stay compact and get good extension through the baseball. Recorded an exit velocity of 80 MPHDefensively- Athletic outfielder that showed fluid movements as well as good agility moving from gap to gap. Created positive energy and momentum getting behind the ball and using a quick transfer to get rid of the ball quickly. Throws showed good carry and accuracy using long arm action with good extension. Throwing velocity on the day was recorded at 78 MPH.
