Physical: Large and projectable 6-foot-4, 200-pound showcasing athleticism in the movements. Canisius commit.
Defensively: The outfielder demonstrated fluid, active footwork with solid instincts in space, got downhill through the fielding window with a low center of gravity on the approach off of the right side of his body, accurate high ¾ slot with carry towards the target, live arm. OF - 88 mph
Pitching: LHP - Stretch only from the right side of the rubber, simple / quick leg lift at medium height and gets directional towards the plate, medium-low on the land with good extension on the finish out of a loose, high ¾ slot. FB ranged from 82-85 mph with arm-side run and an upwards of 2022 max spin per Trackman Baseball, mixed in a tight 69-71 mph slider showing frisbee action on occasion and maintained horizontal plane / 2135 spin. Countered with a quality 68-70 mph CH with deception at the plate and arm-side fade / can be an out pitch to RHH.
6/25/19
A tall physical build at 6-foot-4,200 pounds. Pitching- The LHP displayed a repeatable delivery and a projectable live arm. Works mainly from the right side of the rubber. Keeps his front side closed and drives down the mound off a balanced back side. Arm is loose and live and throws from a high ¾ arm slot. FB has late life and peaked at 85 MPH. Ranging from 83-84 MPH. CB is tight and has sharp downward action from 66-68 MPH. Shows feel for a 74-75 MPH CH.
2/23/19
A projectable 6-foot-4, 200 pounds frame. Ran a 6.98 in the 60 yard dash and ran a 3.9 home to first. Offensively- Stands in the box with a slight bend in the knees. Feet shoulder width apart. Brings hands back smoothly on the load. Direct path to the baseball. Flat bat path and finishes with a flat bat through the hitting zone. Showed pull side hard consistent contact. Stays balanced throughout his swing. Top exit velocity 90 MPH. Defensively- Aggressive approach to the baseball. Fields the ball at the center of his body. Quick smooth funnel actions. Throws from a quick ¾ arm slot. Throws have some carry. Top throwing velocity 84 MPH. Pitching- Displayed a repeatable delivery and a live projectable arm. Works with a quick tempo. High knee lift keeps the front side closed into a balanced backside and drives downhill with low effort. Has a long easy arm action. FB has late life and peaked at 82 MPH. CB has a late break and ranged from 68-70 MPH. Shows feel for a CH down in the zone 73-75 MPH. The 2020 graduate is a must follow.
Winter Open (February 11, 2018)
Long, athletic 6-foot-3 185 pound LHP/OF who ran a 7.47 60 and 4.44 home to 1B. Offensively- Upright setup from the waist up; feet are even and uses a short load/stride fro timing. Sweeping swing path through the zone with semi-aggressive lower half. Could be more explosive with actions but repeats with balance. Exit velocity was 82 MPH from the tee. Pulls side results. Defensively- Gathers himself well, staying behind the ball with a short step-through crow hop. Arm action is long with carry on throws at a peak of 83 MPH from the outfield. Pitching- Demostrated more polish on the mound with a center rubber setup, pivoting to his glove side. Mid-chest balance point, gathering momentum to the plate while riding back leg. Arm action is long and loose, through a 3/4 slot. A firmer front side and continued accelerated arm speed will help with late life. Sat 79-81 MPH with arm-side run. Curveball featured some late bit with slider tendencies at 64-65 PH. Some feel to change at 73-75 MPH. Projectable southpaw with more in the tank.
