7/06/20

Physical: Lean and projectable 6-foot, 165-pound frame with feel for his body. 7.38 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH. Wide, balanced stance with a slight bend in the knees and the barrel resting just above the shoulder. Utilized a deliberate leg-lift stride as the timing mechanism with minimal hand movement in the load initiating a flat barrel path into the hitting zone with lift after contact. Long levers worked to get inside the baseball and whip through impact, and when on time at the front of the plate generated loud contact. Occasional timing issues while letting the ball get deep in on the hands, front foot timing needed to get down earlier. Worked primarily to the pull-side during batting practice with a peak hand speed of 18.50 mph per Blast Motion and an 88 mph bat-exit velocity per Trackman Baseball.

Defensively: The primary backstop was a solid defender with a soft and loose glove hand at the catch point while receiving. Pop times ranged from 1.95-2.02 utilizing short and quick straight line footwork out of a low crouch coupled with feel for catch and throw skills out of a high ¾ slot, moderate arm circle, and a fast arm. Beat the ball to either side of the plate while blocking with length in the frame and downward chest angles. C - 71 mph
