A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Curveball

Physical: 6-foot-1, 180 pounds; Lean, long build. Pitching: Uses a center rubber setup working primarily from the stretch. Mid chest leg drive with shoulders above the hips. Has a long stride landing inline with the plate. Long arm swing while stabbing downward; standard 3/4 slot. Square to the plate with finish. FB: Peak velo of 82 MPH, while sitting 80-81 MPH; straight action. CB: 63-65 MPH; spots and expands. CH: 70-72 MPH; fading action.
6/28/21
Physical: Strong, even-proportioned 5-foot-11, 180lb frame with athleticism in the actions. 7.27 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Tall, open stance with the hands starting up/down low at the shoulder. Utilized a gradual leg lift stride to initiate the bat head through a flat, connected path into the hitting zone. The lower half worked with great success, driving into a stiff/adjustable front side at impact, producing lots of carry on T95 mph bat-exit velocities (via Trackman). Notched a 302 foot batted ball distance at his peak suggesting doubles power available, and held a 31% line drive rate with good bat to ball skills. Simple, direct approach finding barrels to the LCF side with consistency and projects to hold down a middle of the order role moving forward.
Defensively: The primary infielder featured a medium posture, bending at the waist and fielding out in front softly. A soft glove hand funneled into the chest, releasing accurately from H ¾ slot across the diamond (moderate takeaway, 80 mph, accurate). Was able to move well laterally in either direction and finished off the play on the run throwing across his body.
3/27/21
Physical: Lean, athletic 6-foot, 160 lb build
Pitching: Short side step with a high leg lift and slight coil before driving out in line and getting quality hip-shoulder separation against a strong front side. Hand drops straight down out of the glove before whipping through a clean 3/4 release
FB: Commands a heavy ball at the bottom of the zone. CB: Good feel with high spin and big break; 11-5 shape SL: Tight er break with a 10-4 shape and depth through the zone. CH: Good hand speed with arm side fade
7/06/20
Physical: Lean, projectable 6-foot, 165-pound frame with length in the movements and room to fill out as he matures. 7.66 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Balanced, even stance with the hands showing plenty of rhythm low at the shoulder and a slight bend in the knees upon setup. Utilized a leg-kick stride while consistently on time at the front of the plate initiating a slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone. Raw actions in the swing with some twitch and whip towards contact. Generated hard contact through the middle of the field, working gap to gap during batting practice. Lifted the ball out in front of the plate to the pull-side and recorded a max of 87 mph bat-exit velocity per Trackman Baseball.
Defensively: The primary outfielder showcased active footwork with an adequate feel for creating momentum towards the target. Low center of gravity while fielding off of the left foot out in front, medium arm circle out of a high ¾ slot with accuracy towards the target, stayed behind the ball well in the air. OF - 78 mph
Pitching: RHP - Controlled, smooth pace in the delivery with a high leg kick at the top of the stack showing slight hip coil generating straight line drive towards the plate. The arm works long and whips through a high ¾ slot on the front side. Fastball appeared at 77-79 mph with command in the zone while mixing in a slow and tight, 59-62 mph CB with 11/5 shape. Countered with a low spin, 68-69 mph CH which needs to be thrown with more intent.
2/19/20
Physical: 5-foot-11, 159-pounds. Lean, projectable build; 4.82 home-to-1B. Offensively: RHH. Tall stance, wide base, lots of movement in hands pre-pitch, uses a big leg kick for timing Hands clear the zone quickly, very quick, short bat path, good use of lower half. Lots of contact to all fields. 88 MPH raw exit velocity. Defensively: Starts low and aggressively approaches the ball, fields the ball on his back foot and uses a slight crow hop to release. Long arm swing with a 3/4 slot; OF - 73 MPH. Pitching: Steady pace, leg lift above the waits with slight coil, sits into back leg while glove arm gets up and out creating shoulder tilt as he stride out in line to a repeatable release and follow through. Long, whippy arm action to a high 3/4 slot. FB: T76, 73-76 MPH. Natural tail with life to it. CB: 58-60 MPH. Big, sharp 11-5 break. CH: 67-68 MPH. Maintains hand speed with late fade into the zone.
