Large body type. Massive leg kick and slight rotation towards CF. Long arm action. Finishes well over front knee. Uses lower leg push and drive towards target. CB has average spin.
6/6/18: Foody: Pitching- Fastball ranging from 80-82-MPH with a fastball topping out at 82-MPH and a change up measured at 71-MPH.
Preseason - Downstate (February 21, 2017)
On the mound he uses a slow motion to his delivery, hands high by his back shoulder, drives forward on the power line using average hip and shoulder separation, arm action is deep long and clean, throws from a high 3/4 slot with a front-side finish, fastball stays on a downward plane sitting 78-80 mph, curveball has gradual 12-6 shape sitting 66-68 mph, change up shows arm side fade on one plane 70-71 mph. Great size on the mound absolute player to follow.
ENY All-Star Games (September 17, 2017)
Foody stands a solid 6-foot-2, 205-pounds. Pitching- He uses a relatively slow delivery, knee lift above his belt with high hands. He uses a long arm-action slightly back/down towards 2B, long front arm with shoulder tilt, long stride. Releases the ball from a high-3/4 slot with a fastball peaking at 80 mph (sat 78). There's some depth and arm-run to his fastball. After seeing Foody over the past few months it's clear there's more to come from the burly RHP, more specifically velocity. Focusing on getting that 205-pound body as strong as possible will play a huge role in his development.
Campus Series-Marist (July 25, 2017)
Foody checks in at 6-foot-2, 205-pounds with a tall, thick, athletic frame. Pitching- Fluid mechanics that are smooth and consistent. Shows a high leg kick above the hip crease and breaks down well with good separation. Has a loose arm with a high ¾ release point. Utilizes whole body during pitching delivery and finishes with a strong follow through. Could stiffen front side more to gain extra momentum during the pitching motion. Overall mechanics are fluid and clean. Fastball range was 78-79 MPH and peaked at 80 MPH showing good arm side run. Curveball was 66-68 MPH and showed 12/6 rotation and was consistent in the strike zone. Change-up was 64-65 MPH with sink action. Overall a solid pitching prospect in the 2020 class that will only get better with continued development and added strength.
