The 2020 RHP was impressive at the St. Rose Campus Series event. The projectable right handed pitcher worked with a three pitch mix. FB peaked at 82 MPH with late life and a lot more in the tank. CB has tight spin with late action. Howard displayed a plus CH which had late fade down in the zone. Howard is a projectable arm that is a must watch as he continues to develop.
A lean athletic frame at 6-foot-2, 160 pounds. Ran a 7.04 in the 60 yard dash. Offensively- Stands in the box with weight on his backside. Slightly open. Gets full use of the lower half and full extension after the point of contact. Swings with intent. Showed hard consistent contact to the pull side. Has slight lift at the point of contact. Top exit velocity was 87 MPH. Defensively- Takes his time to gather himself before fielding the baseball. Gets behind the baseball. Has a smooth exchange and throws from a quick, high ¾ arm slot. Top throwing velocity was 84 MPH.
A lean athletic frame at 6-foot-2, 160 pounds. Ran a 4.19 home to first. Offensively- Stands in the box with a tall narrow stance. Short simple load. Quick to the hitting zone. Consistent hard contact. Showed pull side pop. Balanced throughout his swing. Finishes in an upright stance. Top exit velocity 82 MPH. Defensively- Aggressive and under control to the baseball. Takes time to gather himself on the throw. Throws are accurate and have some carry. Top throwing velocity 81 MPH. Pitching- Displays a live easy arm action. Projectable arm. Repeatable delivery. Uses a high knee lift from a balanced backside. Smooth hand separation. Works downhill on plane. FB has late life shows control. Peaked at 79 MPH CB tight early spin ranged from 64-66 MPH. Shows feel for a CH 71-73 MPH. The 2020 graduate has a projectable frame and with some strengthening and development could really increase his measurables. He is a must follow.
