Blake Close: RHP/3B, (2024) Toronto, OH. 6-foot-4, 185-pound athletic projectable frame. (58.7 mph bat speed average). (18.8 mph hand speed average). Started in a tall open stance with an active rhythmic load, then used a toe tap stride. Bat speed was efficient, had an upward swing plane and high finish. Produced some loud contact and found a few barrels. Aggressive approach. Capable projectable in the infield, his best throw was recorded at 81 mph; showed consistent developing hands, a fluid natural exchange, and in control feet. Laterally, movements were average and fielded the ball out front. Showed consistent accuracy to the bag with a consistent loose arm action and a high ¾ slot. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.3. Solid projectable on the mound, showed some arm speed, also used a high ¾ arm angle with a loose arm action. Feel type pitcher who uses some effort. Showed athletic balance point and even in line shoulders. Lands open with recoil upright finish.  (Max spin 1682; Avg 1552).

Started in an athletic quiet stance with a compact load, then used a small leg kick. Bat speed is quick, uses a loose uphill swing plane and balanced finish. Solid while in the infield, made throws up to 77 mph; has consistent feet, a natural exchange, and sure hands. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Had a quick arm action with a high ¾ slot. In the 60-yard dash, recorded a time of 7.34. On the mound, showed consistent arm speed with a clean arm action and a high ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows easy effort. Sat with his fastball at 72-75 mph. Shows slight running action. (Max spin 1667; Avg 1476). He shows slight action on his changeup (65-70). Threw a 10/4 slider (60-64) with late action. (Max spin 1228; Avg 1165).
