Swing Mechanics: Right-handed hitter that starts in an upright stance. Goes with a leg kick load and bat tip for rhythm. Hit: Level path with an all fields approach. Generates natural backspin to both fields. Quicker than he is strong at this stage but much more physical maturation to come. Swing really works. Power: Line drive pop. Offensive Projection: Top of the lineup. Field: in the infield he plays with fluid actions with some bounce to his step. Moves well out there and has feel for his hands. Above average ball skills for class. Solid defender. Also worked out behind the dish. One of the top backstops we saw on the day. Does everything at an above average clip. Throw: Clean, accurate arm that will see easy strength gains with maturity.
6/27/18 A fluid, functional athlete that has athletic/smooth actions to all facets of his game. A versatile defender that can play both the infield and catcher position at an above average clip. Tough to tell which position he projects better at with him being so young but on this day he really stood out behind the dish. Caught and threw it well in workout and showed advanced receiving abilities in bullpens. Up the middle he is mechanically sound with rhythmic feet and soft hands. Middle infield type skill set. At the plate he has a very efficient swing from the right side. Fluid movements followed by a loose, whippy stroke through the zone. Impressed with hand eye and ability to square up the baseball. Going to be really good once he adds strength. 60-yard dash: 8.69 Pop Times: 2.06-2.19 Catcher Velocity: 56 Infield Velocity: 65 Exit Velocity: 63
