Brayden White: C/RHP, (2021) Westerville South, OH. Toledo Commit, 6-foot-2, 205-pound. In the box, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 94 mph. Began in a balanced athletic stance with a controlled load, then used a small leg kick. Had explosive bat speed, upward swing plane and low finish. Laterally, his movements were athletic. Behind the plate, he made strong throws to second and produced an efficient position velocity of 80 mph; showed soft hands, a clean exchange, and fluid feet. Had quick feet and transfers on his throw downs, recording a 1.87-1.91 pop time. Athletic setup with a lot of flexibility. Used a high ¾ slot with a quick arm action. During the event, recorded a 60 time of 7.53. Advanced on the mound, had quick arm speed and a high ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows easy effort. Changeup (77-78 mph), slider (71-75 mph).Produced a fastball that came in at 85-87 mph. 


2/17/20 Position Player
Hit: Right-handed hitter that starts in an athletic setup. Smooth mover with feel for what he's doing in the box. Explosive swing that plays to both sides of the field. Impressive showing.
Power: Gap abilities.
Offensive Projection: Run producer ceiling.
Field: In the outfield he plays with quiet actions. Ball skills are above average for class. Arm is top tool. Also worked out in the infield where he has a capable skill set. Top position looks to be catcher. Big time arm with above average athleticism. Elite pop times of 1.89-1.94.
Throw: Loose arm with a ton of strength behind it.
Defensive Projection: C.


2/17/20 Pitching
Delivery Notes: Good mover with obvious athleticism on the mound. Delivery has some explosiveness to it and stuff is for real.
Fastball: High spin rate guy. Heavy pitch. Impressive velo jump since we saw him last. 84-86 mph.
Fastball Spin Rates: 2200-2400.
Curveball: 11/5, very sharp, present swing/miss. One of the better ones we saw on the day with a group that could really spin it in general.
Curveball Spin Rates: 2300-2500, elite spin.
Changeup: Solid offering with good sell to it.
Pitchability: Strike thrower.


Body Type: 6-foot-1, 185-pound sturdy frame.
Swing Mechanics: Out of a balanced stance he showed a great load followed by an uphill path producing that has power producing capabilities.
Hit: Bat gets through the zone well allowing for him to be on plane longer and square pitches up.
Power: 87 mph exit velocity.  Strong bat for his class and used it well. Stroked it to the middle of the field as well as pull-side.
Offensive Projection: Multiple.
Field: Behind the plate showed quicker feet getting himself into position to throw. Pop time was 1.92-2.01 seconds.
Throw: 76 mph down to second base. Throws has some strength behind them and were on target.
Defensive Projection: Catcher.
Additional Comments:  Likeable actions behind the dish along with a power bat. Will be a good follow over the next few years.  

Mechanical/Delivery Notes: A very efficient and athletic delivery with a fast, compact arm action.
Fastball: 80-82 mph. Mostly straight with life through the zone. Projects for more velo with added strength, coupled with athletic delivery
Curveball: 65-66 mph. Tight, 12-6 break. Late break that will lead to plenty of swing and misses.
Changeup: 70-71 mph. Developing pitch that showed arm side run and sink at times.
Pitchability: Filled up the zone with live fastball and plus curveball that will induce swing and misses.
Additional Comments: High follow in the 2021 class. Strong, athletic movements should lead to increased velocity.


White looks athletic and comfortable behind the dish. Starts in a low crouch with noticeable flexibility to his hips. Gets out of his stance well with quick, mechanically sound feet. Exchange skills are there and arm action fits the position. Registered pop times of 2.1-2.19, and threw with 70 mph arm strength to second base.


A talented prospect. At the plate he has a fluid load, and syncs up his movements well. Foot gets down early and he maintains lower half stretch until launch. Hands move back at release, creating balance and separation. Ball comes off the bat well, showing above average natural tools in swing. Gap to gap pop. A good athlete behind the dish with above average catch and throw abilities. Feet are quick and does a nice job of creating direction. Arm action is short and ball comes out well. In the infield his actions have athleticism to them, and he reacts well off the bat. Feel are quick and he fields from the middle of his body. Transfer is smooth and he flashed the ability to use multiple arm angles.
