6/5/18 One of the more quality hit tools left on the board in the 2019 class. An energy filled swing that offers both intent and control. Shows a balanced combination of strength and bat speed through the zone, both grading out as above average tools. Baker can backspin it to both sides of the field with easy gap pop. In the infield he offers an average skill set across the board. Not a flashy guy with the glove but gets the job done. It was our first time getting a look at him in the outfield. Has some finer points to work out but the arm plays and he athletic enough for a corner spot. 60-yard dash: 6.96 Infield Velocity: 84 Outfield Velocity: 81 Exit Velocity: 87
2/18/18 It’ll be very interesting to see where Baker ends up. Offensively he is a D1 type bat from the left side, arguably being one of the top unsigned bats left on the board. Defensively he is adequate but skill set is behind hit tool. JUCO/D2 type if a D1 doesn’t snag him late in the process. 60-yard dash: 7.07 Infield Velocity: 83 Exit Velocity: 84
1/27/18 One of the more intriguing prospects left on the board in the 2019 class. Bat looks dynamic at times, showing flashes of a guy who could make an early impact in the box at the next level. Arm plays at any spot in the infield (86 mph) with actions suggesting a better fit at second base. We’ve also seen him impress off the bump this fall. Home to First: 4.51 Infield Velocity: 86 Outfield Velocity: 86 Exit Velocity: 88
1/15/18 Ran a 7.11 60-yard dash. Continues to impress at the plate. Baker has added noticeable strength since the summer and it translated to his swing. Barrel maintains momentum throughout load, giving him easy/early acceleration through the zone. Can use all fields with more natural ball flight to pull side. The type of bat that can fit just about anywhere in a lineup. Natural tools/pop are much louder than his 81 mph exit velocity would indicate. In the infield he has a second baseman look to him, with enough arm to play third if need be at 84 mph across the diamond. Hands are soft and he showed above average range.
5/31/17 A left-handed hitter that starts in an athletic setup. Mechanics are simple, letting his impressive bat speed go to work. Path is level with solid whip through contact. Has the look of a three hole guy. Sprayed line drives to all fields, showing the ability to create backspin. An athletic infield with a quick first step. Does a nice job of remaining low throughout his fielding sequence. Transitions smoothly from fielding into his throws. Throws with accuracy and clean arm action. Looked athletic on the move.

7/26/16 5-foot-9, 160-pound athletic frame. A solid infielder with athletic actions and above average glove skills. Footwork is quick and efficient. Does a nice job of playing low and through the baseball. Threw across the infields with 75 mph arm strength. At the plate he has fluid movements to his loading sequence and was consistently on time in batting practice. Batspeed is above average as he takes a short, compact path to the ball. Reached a top exit velocity of 79 mph. Ran a 7.61 60-yard dash.
5/31/16 5-foot-9, 155-pound athletic build. A talented 2019 left-handed bat. Creates excellent energy with his lower half into contact through a double tap load and stride. Using a bat tip to load his upper half he is able to create whip through the zone with solid batspeed on a level path. Good hitter. Registered an exit velocity of 74 mph and ran a 4.56 down the line. Moves well laterally at third base with the ability to play through the baseball. Would like to see him play low more consistently. Threw with 75 mph arm strength across the infield.
1/18/16 5-foot-9, 150-pound athletic build. Ran a 7.42 60-yard dash. Left-handed hitter that with a slightly open, athletic setup. Showed good rhythm as he gathered his weight during a knee pinch load. Hands start high and have minimal movement during load and take a downward path to the ball. Exit velocity was 73 mph with more in the tank. From the outfield he was able to field the ball nicely on his glove side, ahead of his front foot. Was able to carry momentum into his throws with short, clean arm action. Throws showed carry from a high 3/4 slot at 72 mph. In the infield he did an excellent job of playing low and gaining ground to first base before he threw. Had 73 mph arm strength across the diamond.
