Starts in a quiet balanced stance with a compact load, then uses a controlled stride. Bat speed was efficient, used a short simple swing plane and high finish. Solid from the outfield, he displayed a position velocity of 73 mph; had consistent footwork, soft hands, and a natural exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Had a loose arm action and a high ¾ slot. Showed off his speed at the event, running a swift 6.72 60-yard dash. On the mound, showing consistent arm speed he had a compact arm action and a high ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows easy effort. Had slight running action. (Max spin 1917; Avg 1907).
