Body Type: 6-foot-1, 186-pound put together prospect. Swing Mechanics: Balanced stance before showing a back load to hands during his move out with lower half. Hit: Uphill path to contact with obvious physicality. Used all fields in BP with a little extra juice to pull side. Once again showed the ability to drive the ball with authority. Upside bat that plays in the middle of a lineup. Power: 86 mph exit velocity. Present gap with some emerging pull side power. Offensive Projection: Run Producer. Run: 7.07 60-yard dash. Field: Worked out at third base and in the outfield. Projects more in the infield but showed the athleticism and ball skills to fill a corner spot if need be out there. Throw: 79 mph arm strength to home plate and 75 mph arm across the diamond. Defensive Projection: 3B.
7/24/18
Took one of the louder BPs of the day. Lefty swinger that stars in a balanced, athletic stance. Easy, fluid movements prior to launch that create both balance and energy. Generates high output with a lower effort swing. Ball was flying around the park, especially to pull side. Showed the present ability to leave the yard. Defensively he offers an above average skill set at third. Soft hands with mechanically sound feet. Arm plays on the left side.

Left-handed hitter that starts in an open setup. Natural tools are well above average for age. Stands out for his strength at the plate. Loading sequence is fluid and efficient. Path is level with early bat speed. Present gap to gap pop, showing signs of power potential to come. Middle fo the order type guy. Very impressive showing at third base. Actions are athletic and confident. Showed feel around the bag and well above average glove skills. Has the lateral mobility and arm strength to stay at the position.
An impressive built prospect at 6-foot-1, 186-pounds. On the mound the right-hander has an uptempo delivery that requires some effort. Arm has some looseness to it while coming through a high-¾ slot. Display solid feel for all three of his offerings. Fastball was mostly straight through the zone, showing cut on occasion at 71-74 mph. Johnson maintains his fastball arm speed on his changeup that came in at 66-70 mph. The pitch showed late sink at times. Breaking ball isn’t a big breaker but does enough to miss barrels at 65-68 mph. The spinner has solid depth on a near 12/6 plane. A very impressive, physical frame for his age with a middle of the lineup skill set at the plate. Uses a simple approach mechanically and lets his advance strength and fast bat go to work. Swings with the intent to do damage. Hands stay noticeable loose throughout loading sequence, producing substantial barrel whip through the zone. Defensively, he projects as a 3B/2B type at this stage. Shows good glove work and ability to adjust to the bad hop. Footwork still has room to improve. Will be aided by playing more from his toes and creating angles towards first base. Top velocity of 73 mph with some quickness to his transfer.

5-foot-11, 173-pound athletic frame. Has an advanced approach at the plate for his age. He uses very fluid movements to constantly be on time to contact. Always looks under control at the plate and has excellent pitch recognition ability. Showed the ability to use the whole field in batting practice. Reached a top exit velocity of 82 mph. Is able to maintain his fluidity in the infield as well. Moves well laterally with smooth actions. Glove skills are above average. Working through a 3/4 slot he threw across the infield with 65 mph arm strength. The right handed pitcher looks the part on the mound as he uses smooth tempo and a repeatable delivery. Shows arm speed that will continue to get quicker as he matures while it works through a ¾ slot. Fastball sits between 68-71 mph that dives arm side in the zone. Breaking ball moves with some sharp 11/5 tilt at 62-63 mph. Also mixes in a 64-66 mph changeup thrown with near fastball arm speed.
5/31/16 5-foot-10, 158-pound strong, athletic frame. A young, talented left-handed hitter that really stood out with his offensive performance. His approach at the plate is far beyond his years. He stays smooth throughout his loading sequence before taking a short compact path to the ball. Ball jumped off his bat in batting practice and he showed the ability to use the whole field. He remains smooth in game action. Reached a top exit velocity of 85 mph. In the infield he has good feel for the third base position. Showed fluid actions with solid glove skills and the ability to make plays on the move. Threw across the infield with 68 mph arm strength. Good player.
3/19/16 5-foot-10, 158-pound projectable frame. On the mound the righty works through a high-¾ slot with some armspeed, using a three-pitch mix. His fastball sat between 67-69 mph with hard, late run. His curveball has a 10/4 shape to it with gradual break at 62-63 mph. Also mixed in a changeup that had similar action to his fastball sitting 62-63 mph. Across the infield, he threw accurately with 66 mph arm strength. Has above average hands at this stage. Would like to see him play through the ball more consistently as he matures. Open stance with a smooth cut. Hit to the middle and pull side often. Crushed the ball. Registered a top exit velocity of 80 mph and ran a 7.66 60-yard dash.
5-foot-10, 158-pound athletic frame. Ran a 4.56 from home to first. At the plate he is very mechanically sound for his age. Uses a quiet, yet efficient approach at the plate to consistently find the barrel. Starts slightly open and uses a short stride forward with little hand movement. Is able to load his hips during his positive movement for added torque. Very fluid movements throughout his swing. Takes a short, compact path to the ball. Registered a top exit velocity of 83 mph. In the infield he showed good actions and should expect footwork to speed up with age. From a high-3/4 slot he threw with 64 mph arm strength across the diamon.
