Jonny Askew: OF/LHP, (2024) Mount Vernon, OH. 5-foot-10, 185-pound. Started in a balanced athletic stance with a smooth compact load, then used a short quick stride. Bat speed was quick, had a level swing plane and good extension on his finish. Pull side up the middle approach. In the outfield, his best throw of the day was clocked at 87 mph. Established speed as one of his strengths with an efficient 60 time of 6.55. On the mound, with a max of 11 mph. (Max spin 1977; Avg 1871).

A lefty bat that starts in a tall stance. Shows a back load with hands during short stride forward. Balanced launch with a path the has some loft through the zone. Both speed and strength are above average through the zone. Aggressive stroke that generates impressive pop for class. Middle of the lineup type.
