2/12/17 A physical specimen at 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame. The Wright State recruit has as good of tools as any high school position player in the state. McConnell clocked an electronically timed 6.7 60-yard dash and then followed it up with one of the best BP rounds of the day, including 92 mph exit velocity off the tee with a wood bat. And, lastly, he finished the day showing plenty of range and fluid actions in the field along with 90 mph arm strength across the infield.

His best tool is his arm throwing the ball 87 mph across the diamond from a high-3/4 slot. Right-handed hitter that shows good bat speed with a short compact swing. Barrel gets in and out of the zone with 88 mph top exit velocity. Ran 4.5 home to first. Definite prospect to follow

Throws from a high-¾ slot that winds up when he throws and shows a 79 mph arm across the infield. Right-handed hitter that starts even and uses a leg kick to load. Has tendency to drop his hands. Shows quickness in his hands and registered top exit velocity of 82 mph and ran 7.07 60-yard dash.
