Marshall Shepherd: RHP/3B, (2022) Shelby, OH. 6-foot-2, 180-pound. Solid on the mound, throws with a compact arm action and has quick arm speed. Slow-tempo type pitcher who shows high effort. Athletic balance point. Shows a falling off finish. Curveball (67-70 mph) was a hammer at times. Produced a fastball that came in at 83-86 mph.
Hit: Right-handed hitter that starts in an upright setup. Doesn't get cheated up there. Rotational sequence with hook/flare flight at times and backpin up the middle.
Power: Obvious strength that'll generate impressive exit velos when squared.
Offensive Projection: Middle ceiling.
Max BP Exit Velocity: 93mph.
Max BP Distance: 337ft.
Field: Smooth feet with fluidity to actions in the infield. Frame/skill set plays in the corners.
Throw: Well above average arm strength.
Defensive Projection: Corner.
Scouting Notes: After going triple digits off the barrel his previous at bat he shows two-way potential on the mound. Up to 87 with late life, a 2300rpm breaking ball and one of the better changeups we saw on the day.
Fastball: 85-87mph.

Hit:Right-handed hitter that starts in an upright setup. Uses a small leg lift as hands stay quiet prior to launch. Aggressive swinger who doesn't get cheated up there. Minor things to clean up but the strength and bat speed combo is impressive.
Power:All the tools to run the gaps often.
Offensive Projection: Run producer ceiling.

Field:In the infield he plays with direct routes off the bat. Glove skills appear to be on par for class. Does a nice job of gaining ground to first base prior to throwing.
Throw:Accurate thrower.
Defensive Projection:3B.
Scouting Notes:High follow in 2022 class. Physical arm with velo and an impressive breaking ball. Could see him continue to take strides up the velo latter. Standout performance.

Delivery Notes: uptempo pace on the mound. Becomes vertical upon release. High ¾ arm slot righty with compact arm action. Above average strength/speed to arm for class.
Fastball: Ball comes out well. Stays live throughout the zone.
Curveball: 11/5 break to it, above average depth and bite.
Changeup: Average offering that shows good arm side fade.

Hit: Right handed bat with a short and simple swing. Starts out in a balanced setup and incorporates a short front leg stride load. Bat path stays level through the zone creating natural loft. Impressive bat with an efficient swing.
Power: Line drive approach. Juice to come as he fills out.
Offensive Projection: TBD. Top of the lineup traits.
Field: Shows good footwork playing through the ball well. Average glove skills playing on his heels at times.
Throw: Clean arm action through a ¾ arm slot.
Defensive Projection: 3B.
Body Type: 6-foot-1, 160-pound athletic frame.
Swing Mechanics: Simple load with minimal movement. Keeps his hands loose and loaded.
Hit: Downhill bat path with a pull side approach. Natural ball flight to the middle part of the field. Swings with intent.
Power: Line drive guy right now with more to come.
Offensive Projection: Top of the lineup guy.
Field: Plays under control too and through in the infield. Tends to get to heels in funnel at times. Actions more athletic on the move. Well above average lateral mobility.
Throw: 3/4 righty with swinging arm action and above average strength. Ball jumps out of hand.
Defensive Projection: 3B.
Body Type: 6-foot-1, 160-pound athletic frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Works quickly with an uptempo pace on the mound. High-¾ righty with compact arm action. Above average strength/speed to arm for class.
Fastball: 77-82 mph. Ball comes out well. Higher spin rate guy with upper 90s spin efficiency.
Curveball: 67-69 mph. Spins an above average breaking ball that has some depth to it. Pitch has obvious potential.
Pitchability: Strike thrower for the most part.
Body Type: 6-foot-1, 160-pound thin and athletic frame.
Swing Mechanics: Loose and athletic set-up with a smooth and simple load into his lower half while keeping his hands loaded.
Hit: Level bat path that works. Produces backspin everywhere, and has above average bat speed.
Power: Pop to the pull side with more to come as he develops and adds size.
Offensive Projection: Middle of the lineup guy.
Field: In the infield he moves light on his feet with the ability to create angles. Ball skills are on par for class.
Throw: Arm works well and should see added mphs as physical maturation takes its course.
Defensive Projection: 3B.
3/4/18
5-foot-10, 145 pound infield prospect hits from the right side out of a narrow stance. Creates nice separation into his load followed by a slight uphill path. Made solid contact throughout his round and displayed power in his swing too. Recorded an 84 mph exit velocity. In the infield he plays low using direct footwork. Cuts down distance off the bat prior to fielding the ball in the middle of his body. Actions appear more athletic on the move. Ball skills are adequate and he looks to be sure handed. On the mound, the right handed pitcher throws through a high 3/4 slot with short arm action. Offers an advanced, live arm for age as his fastball ran up to 77 mph at times; sits 72-77 mph. His curveball displays some sharpness in movement as it works through an 11/5 plane at 58-59 mph. Also mixes in a 59-62 mph changeup that appears significantly slower than fastball.
