6/12/19
Body Type: 6-foot-3, 205-pound projectable frame.
Mechanics/Delivery: Fluid, repeatable delivery that requires minimal effort. Works out of a ¾ slot with long loose arm action.
Fastball: Fastball is easy out of the hand, at 77-80 mph the pitch works downhill with slight run to the arm side.
Curveball: Curveball has a big 11/5 shape, the pitch shows developing depth at 65-67 mhp.
Slider: Slider works on the same 11/5 plane as the curveball but has a much tighter and sharper break at 64-67 mph.
Changeup: At 73-75 mph the changeup is thrown with good arm action and shows late sink near the zone.
Pitchability: Strike thrower with feel for all four of his pitches. There is more velocity to come with the fastball. Both the changeup and slider could develop into swing a miss offerings in the future.
2/17/19 Pitching
Body Type: 6-foot-3, 195 pound sturdy frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Delivery shows some polish. Paired a loose arm action with an efficient load of the lower half. Needs to throw with more intent.
Fastball: 78-79 mph. Pounded the zone. Stayed mostly straight, but showed some arm side run and sink at times.
Curveball: 63-65 mph. 11-5 shape. Still developing into an above average pitch, but showed the ability to command it consistently.
Changeup: 72-73 mph. Threw with fastball arm speed and stayed mostly straight.
Slider: 66-68 mph. Showed tight spin with some sink.
Pitchability: Commanded the zone with all 4 pitches. Secondary pitches are continuing to develop into above average offerings.
Additional Comments: Moves very well mechanically and I think with increased strength, should see velocity increase.
Scouting Report: 6-foot-1, 175-pound athletic, projectable body frame. From the mound he uses regular effort to his delivery and offers a three-pitch mix. Has a straight up and down leg lift landing in a straight line, finishing with his momentum carrying in good direction toward home plate. Throws with a clean arm action using average arm speed through a ¾ slot. His fastball was thrown between 69-72 mph. His curveball has good depth with gradual break on an 11/5 plane that projects nicely at 61-64 mph. Throws a slider with good, tight shape and sinking action at 61-62 mph.
