2/10/19 Pitching

Body Type: 5-foot-10 150-pound prospect.

Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Throws from a ¾ arm slot with some ‘drop and drive’ tendencies to the delivery.

Fastball: 75-79 mph fastball was mostly true through the zone.

Breaking Ball: 64-69 mph breaking ball showed decent spin and slurvey shape. Did have a slight hump on the pitch.

Changeup: 69-72 mph changeup showed some arm side run with minimal depth.

Pitchability: Average feel and command for his three pitch mix.

Role: Would project best as a bullpen type arm at the next level.

9/24/17
A right-handed pitching prospect in the 2020 class. Delivery has a slower pace to it prior to speeding up as he accelerates arm. Does a nice job of creating energy and direction with his lower half. Arm moves through a high-3/4 slot with above average arm speed. Throws all of his pitches with intent and should see velo increases as he adds strength with maturity. Fastball will run and show sink at times, sitting 73-75 mph. Tends to slow arm a bit on his 10/4 shaped breaking ball. The pitch has sweeping action to it with gradual break at 55-60 mph. Also spins a 65-68 mph slider which looks to be the better of the two offerings. Tosses the offering much firmer than breaking ball, giving it depth and sharp action across the plate. Also flashed a changeup that had similar action to his fastball at 69-71 mph.

7/25/17
A right-handed hitter that starts in an athletic setup. Loading sequence is fluid, using a leg kick for timing. Hands move back before taking a level path to the baseball. A contact type guy that has feel for the barrel. Does nice job of staying within himself and working the the middle of the field. Natural tools are developing. In the infield he plays with fluidity, remaining under control. Moves well laterally and plays with soft hands. Ball skills are developing. On the mound the right-hander has good pace to his repeatable delivery. Uses an easy leg lift, staying tall at balance point. Lands in line to home plate with his momentum taking him to the first base line at finish. Fastball showed slight run at times, but mostly stayed true through the zone. Complements his fastball with an 11/5 shaped breaking ball. The pitch has gradual break and was consistently in the zone. Did a nice job of mixing his pitches and keeping hitters off balance.

Exit Velocity: 68

1/22/17
5-foot-10, 130-pound prospect. Uses a slow tempo delivery throwing through a long ¾ slot. Stays balance through a high lift. Creates extension through his backside during the stride landing squared to the plate. Fastball had arm side run sitting 69-73 mph. Complimented his fastball with a sharp curveball sat 60-64 mph with 11/5 tilt. Also, displayed good arm speed and command of his changeup which sat 62-65 mph with sink.

3/19/16
5-foot-7, 125-pound prospect. On the mound the righty has a slower pace to a delivery that requires regular effort. Working out of a low-¾ slow his fastball has natural run to it at 68-74 mph. Has two different breaking balls in his arsenal, with his best being his 62-63 mph slider that darts across the zone with good depth. His curveball has an 11/5 shape to it with gradual break at 60-61 mph. Also mixed in a changeup near fastball armspeed at 61-62 mph. Long arm action from ¾ to high ¾ slot. Top velocity of 66 mph across the infield. Average hands and exchange. Needs to play from toes of his feet. Tendency to be flat. From the crouch, he reached a top velocity of 63 mph. Long arm action. Tendency to wind up in his transfer. Throws uphill with some run to his ball. Pop times between 2.40 to 2.56. At the plate he uses a simple hands back, short stride load from the right side. Taking a slightly downhill path to the ball he was able to register a top exit velocity of 57 mph. Ran an 8.59 60-yard dash.
