Ted Akas: 2B/OF, (2023) Buckeye Valley, OH. 5-foot-7, 150-pound athletic lean build. Solid at the plate, the right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 82 mph. (60.6 mph bat speed average). (19.1 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced open stance with a quick load, then used a toe tap stride. Bat speed was quick, had a long level swing plane and low finish. In the round he found multiple barrels. Up the middle line drive approach. Capable in the infield, his best throw was recorded at 71 mph; shows athletic choppy feet, developing hands, and a packing exchange. Movements laterally were athletic and he fields the ball out front. Showed a low ¾ slot and a quick loose arm action. Clocked a 60 time of 7.85 at the event.
5-foot-6, 145-pound slim frame. Fluid during batting practice, Akas clocked an exit velocity of 75 mph. Starts in a balanced stance with a controlled load, then uses a controlled stride. Had a level swing plane, quick bat speed and high finish. He barreled up multiple balls with some loud contact. Base hit approach. Capable while in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 70 mph; had consistent footwork, consistent hands, and a lengthy exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were average. Recorded a time of 8.06 in the 60-yard dash.
