Tommy Barth: OF/LHP, (2021) Brecksville Broadview Heights, OH. 6-foot, 190-pound athletic frame. At the plate, Barth was ranked 3rd with an exit velocity of 98 mph.Began in an athletic closed stance with a smooth load, then used a small leg kick. Had average bat speed and a rotational swing plane. Smooth In the outfield, had athletic footwork, a clean exchange, and soft hands. Movements laterally were athletic and he fields the ball out front. Showed an-over-the-top slot and a loose arm action. In the 60-yard dash, his time was 7.06.


Hit: Right-handed hitter that starts in an open setup. Super smooth stroke that runs into contact a ton. Impressive feel for contact, barrelling up everything in BP. One of the cleaner rounds of the day.
Power: Easy gap pop.
Offensive Projection: Run producer.
Max BP Exit Velocity: 91mph.
Max BP Distance: 288ft.
Field: Much like at the plat every smooth and athletic out there. Ball skills are ahead of the curve for class. Solid showing.
Throw: Clean arm with solid jump.
Defensive Projection: Corner Outfield.

Scouting Notes: Three-pitch lefty with feel for the zone. Diced throughout his outing showing the ability to mix/changes speed effectively. Likely higher ceiling as a position guy but something to look at on the mound for sure.
Fastball: 79-81mph.
Fastball Spin Rate: 1915-1977
Breaking Ball: 64-65mph.
Breaking Ball Spin Rate: 1988-2132
Changeup: 69-71mph knuckle.


Body Type: 5-foot-10, 155-pound athletic frame. 
Swing Mechanics: Righty swinger that uses a back load to hands during controlled stride.
Hit: Easy stroke on a slightly downhill path. Ton of feel for contact, running into contact often. Natural tools are above average for class/ball comes off well. All fields abilities with slight pull side tendencies. Definite hit tool to follow.
Power: 92.6 was top exit velocity in BP. Gap abilities. Ball jumps.
Offensive Projection: Multiple roles.
Field: Plays loose and fast in the outfield. Athletic actions with above average ball skills. Solid defender out there.
Throw: Clean arm that will continue to support velocity with physical maturation.
Defensive Projection: Multiple spots.

Mechanical/Delivery Notes: A smooth delivery that lands closed off with the lower half. High ¾ arm action that has easy flow throughout delivery.
Fastball: 73-74mph. Arm side movement with comfort locating on the arm side of the plate. Shows ability to be able to locate glove side of plate.
Curveball: 58-59mph. Thrown on a 1/7 plane that gets on the hands of right handed hitters.
Changeup: 60-64mph knuckleball that had late dips and dives to it but isn’t thrown consistently in the zone.
Pitchability: Strike thrower. 


Body Type:  5-foot-10, 155-pound thin and athletic frame.
Swing Mechanics:  Open stance with simple and compact load.  Gets upper and lower halves involved.
Hit:  Downhill bat path with a middle of the field approach.  Natural tools are solid with more to come.
Power:  Line drive guy with more to come as he develops and adds size.
Offensive Projection:  TBD.
Field: In the outfield he approaches the ball with fluid actions and constant rhythm throughout sequence. Looks the part out there.
Throw: Developing strength. should see easy velo increases as he matures physically.
Defensive Projection: Multiple Spots. 

Body Type: 5-foot 10, 155-pound slim, athletic projectable frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Easy, fluid delivery with near ¾ slot. Loose arm action with tall and fall delivery to the plate. Arm is clean with average strength for his class. Should see an increase in velo and he fills frame.
Fastball: 75-77. Solid arm side run away from righties with above average command. More velo to come down the road. 1500-17000, low efficiency.
Curveball: 62-64. Above average secondary offering with 2-8 break. Above average sharpness, with solid depth and good command.
Pitchability: Offered both pitches in all counts, show solid control and feel for both pitches. Knows body well and shows potential growth and projection on the bump.
Additional Comments:


Body Type: 5-foot-10, 150-pound athletic frame.
Swing Mechanics: Goes with a leg kick to initiate lower half as hands stay quiet. Very efficient load.
Hit: Balanced swing with above average natural tools through the zone. Projects for more burst as physical maturation takes its course. Feel hitter that laced line drives to the middle/opposite field. Very solid round of BP.
Power: 82 mph exit velocity. Expect more pop with maturity.
Offensive Projection: Topf of the Lineup/Ball Mover.
Run: 7.12 60-yard.

dashScouting Report: 5-foot-9, 135-pound projectable body frame. In the outfield he uses efficient footwork while approaching the baseball. Would like to see him incorporate more of a crow hop to help aid his throws. Throws with a clean arm action through an upper ¾ slot recording a top velocity of 73 mph. Right-handed hitter starts from a very open stance and strides getting himself squared back up to even. Hands stay mostly quiet and swings with a level bat path through the zone. Showed the ability to use the whole field during his round of batting practice reaching a top exit velocity of 80 mph and ran a 7.50 60-yard dash.
