2/12/17
A very athletic prospect at 6-foot-2, 185-pound frame. Wardwell, a Duke commit, is one of the top defenders in the class. Glove skills are impressive and footwork is efficient. Gets solid reactions off the bat and has a very quick first step. Will likely stay at shortstop at the next level. A switch hitter at the plate. From the left side he has a fluid, compact swing with obvious quickness to his bat. His hands stay loose prior to launch allowing him to get excellent whip through the zone. From the right side he uses a more simple approach mechanically and lets his natural tools take over. Path is more downhill from the right side and he showed impressive pop to his pull side. Strength and bat speed are well above average tools from both sides of the plate.

60 Yard Dash: 6.89
IF Velocity: 88
Exit Velo (Wood Bat): R 95, L 92

6/8/15
6-foot-1, 165-pound thin, projectable body frame, with room to fill out with. Infielder shows good footwork approaching ground balls, playing through the baseball. He fields out front nicely with his hands. He throws with a clean, short arm action coming through a ¾ slot, while reaching a top velocity of 80 mph. Switch hitter, from the left side he starts from a slightly open stance getting himself squared back up to being even. He uses a fluid, slight hands back load and swings with a mostly level bat path that can move upward at times, finishing high with a two-handed follow through. He registered a top exit velocity from the left side at 83 mph. From the right side of the plate he swings with similar mechanics as he does from the left side, starting from an open stance getting himself back to being even. He finishes high from the right side with a one-handed follow through and reached a noticeable increase in his exit velocity at 91 mph. He ran a 7.25 60-yard dash.

6/2/15

6-foot-1, 165-pound projectable frame. He keeps showing improvement in his skills and earned an invite to TPG from his performance. At shortstop he fields the ball out in front and shows enough range to play up the middle. Clean exchange and throws from a high-3/4 slot with 80 mph arm strength across the diamond. Switch hitter with similar swings. From the right side he starts open and gets to even. Flat swing that stays in the zone. From the left side he has a little leg kick to load with flat path and long finish. Registered an impressive 92 mph exit velocity and was 4.25 down the line.

1/19/15
