Body Type: 6-foot-3 200-pound prospect showed a thick build with a big frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Throws from a lower ¾ arm slot. Showed a long arm action in the backside. Had drop and drive tendencies and could probably get more velocity out of his lower half.
Fastball: 84-86 mph fastball was mostly true through the zone but did show a cutting action at times.
Slider: 73-75 mph slider showed more depth than lateral break and came out his hand on the fastball plane.
Changeup: 79-81 mph changeup was mostly true through the zone with some arm side run at times.
Pitchability: Good feel and command for his three pitch mix.
Role: Shows starter stuff for the high school level. Would probably need a velo bump to start at the next level, but the slider shows good potential as a secondary offering to lean on at the next level.
2/11/18 The Buckeye commit has quite the resume for a prospect his age. Skeriotis is a two-time selection for Team Ohio at the PBR Future Games and won a state championship with Jackson this spring. The right-hander continues to standout on the big stage turning in another impressive performance amongst the state’s best at this event. A strike thrower that fills up the zone with three quality offerings. Fastball sat 85-87 mph with late action to both sides of the plate. Both secondary offerings are above average presently. Changeup showed run and dive with his 11/5 shaped breaking ball showing tight action with more depth to come.
8/5/17 Got the start for team Ohio. Impressed with pitchability, pounding the zone with throughout his two inning of work. Arm action is shorter and the ball comes out of his hand well. Fastball showed late life, while sitting 85-88 mph. His 11/5 shaped breaking ball has turned into an above average offering. The pitch came in at 71-73 mph.
10/7/16 The 6-foot-2 right-hander out of Jackson HS had a very impressive performance on the mound, while pitching for Bo Jackson Elite in Ft. Meyers. Showed easy, clean arm action while sitting 84-87 mph with his fastball that showed heavy cut at times. Was consistently in the zone with his fastball and blew away Scorpion hitters for most of the day. His biggest improvement since we saw him when he represented Ohio at the PBR Future Games was his breaking ball. The pitch was noticeable sharper and he showed much improved feel for it. The tightness and depth of the pitch made it very hard for hitters to pick up, producing swing and misses out of the zone and also freezing batters for strikes. His fastball/curveball combination was enough to dominate opposing hitter but he also mixed in a changeup that he was able to locate in the zone. Definitely showed why he is regarded as one of the top pitching prospects in Ohio’s 2019 class.
6/6/16 6-foot-2, 168-pound projectable frame. Emerging as one of the top right-handed pitching prospects in the 2019 class. He has a quick tempo to a delivery that requires little effort. His frame and short arm action make it very hard for hitters to pick up the ball until it is out of his hand. This makes his 81-85 mph fastball appear even quicker. Has feel for both of his offspeed pitches with his curveball being slightly ahead of his changeup at this stage. Curveball has sharpness to it with some depth and an 11/5 shape at 71-73 mph. He is able to maintain fastball armspeed on his 76-77 mph changeup. Earned a Future Games invitation with his performance.
2/16/15 6-foot-2, 155-pound thin build with room to fill out. On the mound the young right handed prospect shows a lot of projectability. He shows smooth rhythm in his delivery. Lands online at foot strike and shows good direction to the plate. Throws from a high ¾ slot with quick arm speed. Fastball sat 81-83 mph. Curveball sat 70-71 mph with 11/5 tilt. Changeup sat 75-76 mph with near fastball arm speed.
