A 6-foot-3, 210-pound proportional and thick frame. Works from a simple and slow delivery with repeatability. Arm drops straight down out of the break with a quick change of direction, high-3/4 slot. Fastball has constant downhill tilt and deception that flashes some run at 80-82 mph, commanded when in rhythm. Changeup sits 75-76 mph.
6/6/17
A physically impressive 6-foot-3, 210-pound muscular frame with strength throughout. Works from an average tempo delivery with some stiffness and average effort, arm action is short with a quick change of direction coming through a 3/4 slot. Pitches only off his fastball which sits 80-82 mph with late sink and run when down in the zone. In the game, got some weak contact.
2/4/18
A physically impressive 6-foot-3, 210 pound frame with broach shoulders and packed with strength throughout. On the mound, works only from the stretch with a simple delivery, moderate leg kick, and inline finish. Arm action is long in the back with a quick change of direction before coming through a high-¾ slot. Fastball shows consistent and late arm-side run, commanded in the zone, 82-84 mph and touches 85. Changeup sits 77-78 mph, thrown with full are speed and shows fade and some depth, also commanded in the zone. Breaking ball is still developing 68-69 mph. Overall, Colvin had added some velo and a lot of command to his arsinal, making him a prospect to watch for schools wanting to add a strike throwing left-hander to their staff.
