A 6-foot, 180-pound frame with long legs. Offensively, left-handed hitter, middle of the field approach, flat/on the ground, easy swing. Slightly back leg heavy set up, knee-knock load, low hands, smooth swing, 81 mph exit velo. Defensively, soft hands, clean 3/4 slot, 70 mph across the infield. On the mound, works from a controlled methodical delivery. Long arm action, quick change of direction in the back, high-3/4 slot, quality leg drive, balanced finish. Fastball keeps its plane, sits 74-78 mph and has touched 79-80. Slider sits 62-63 mph, flashes some depth, for strikes.
5/31/17
A 6-foot-1, 190-pound frame with some strength throughout. Works from a controlled and repeatable delivery with a full arm circle coming through a 3/4 slot. Fastball ranges 77-79 mph. Slider shows 10/4 shape with some depth, 63-65 mph. Filled up the strike zone in the game. Offensively, the left-handed hitter bats from a slightly open, wide, and athletic set-up with some rhythm in his hands. Uses a quick, moderate leg kick for timing, stays short to the ball with a flat path through finish with some hand strength. In BP, shows a flat, pull approach, found some barrels, 86 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.84 60. Defensively, shows slightly above average hands and footwork, throws with loose arm with a little extra wiggle before coming through a low-3/4 slot, 72 mph, some accuracy. In the game, went 1-for-3 with a blasted double to the pull side.
10-29-17
A physically advanced 6-foot-1, 190-pound durable frame with strength. Offensively, the left-handed hitter bats from an athletic, balanced, and open set-up with some rhythm in his hands. Uses a big leg kick that he constantly get down on time, hands are short and strong to the ball with a flat path to contact and a high finish. In BP, showed a pull approach with lift with much more strength than his 86 mph exit velo would suggest, found consistent barrels. Easily one of the best rounds of left-handed BP on the day. Runs a 7.31 60. Defensively, projects to stay at third base, shows average feet and well above average hands. Throws with a short and loose arm action from a low-¾ slot, good accuracy, 77 mph across the diamond. In the game, reached base on a walk and an error by the third baseman.
9-9-18
A 6-foot-1, 210-pound frame with strength. Offensively, the left-handed hitter bats from an open and athletic set-up with rhythm in his hands. Uses a big knee-knock leg kick and moderate stride before launching his hands on an efficient and flat path to contact and a high finish. In BP, shows a middle to opposite field approach with occasional lift, mostly barrels, 86 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.31 60. Defensively, shows well above average hands and feet that could stick at third base at the next level. Throws from a low ¾ slot with a short arm stroke and excellent accuracy at 80 mph across the diamond.
