A durable 5-foot-10, 180-pound frame with some strength. Offensively, the left-handed hitter bats from a wide open crouch with some rhythm in his hands. Uses a big leg kick and late barrel wigle for timing, hits from his front side with a bent front knee, slightly uphill path with good extension. In BP, shows and all fields, flat approach, going to the opposite field well, mostly barrels, 83 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.17 60. Defensively, shows confident and clean actions. Throws with a loose and easy arm circle coming through a high-3/4 slot, 76 mph with carry and accuracy. On the mound, works from an up-tempo delivery, sinking into his backside during leg lift and driving to the dish. Arm circle is full, clean, and loose coming through a 3/4 slot with some arm speed. Fastball sits 76-78 with some angle and above average command. Curveball shows 2/8-1/7 shape with some late depth, 67-69 mph. Has advanced feel for the changeup, showing well above average run and late fade, 70-71 mph.
A 5-foot-10, 180-pound durable frame. On the mound, works from an abbreviated, uptempo wind up with a high leg kick ans some rhythm. Arm action full with a quick change of direction in the back coming through a high-3/4 slot. Fastball sits 80-82 mph and touches 83 with some arm side run. Changeup is a swing and miss secondary pitch with late fade and thrown with full arm speed, though Hunt does not often go to it. Curveball shows 1/7 gradual break and depth. In the game, challenged hitters and got mostly weak contact. Offensively, the left-handed hitter bats from a back leg heavy and slightly knee-knocked stance with some rhythm in his hands. Uses a moderate knee-knock leg kick with a front side coil before launching his hands on a flat path to contact with a high finish. In BP, shows a pull gap approach with some lift and strength, found some barrels. Exit velo of 83 mph. Runs a 7.17 60. Defensively, shows confident, clean, and athletic actions, charges the ball well, uses a quick crow hop and gets rid of the ball quickly. Throw from a high-¾ slot using a full arm circle, advanced arm strength with accuracy, 84 mph.
A durable 5-foot-10, 180-pound frame with some quick twitch athleticism. On the mound, works from an athletic and up-tempo delivery with a high leg kick, sinks into his back side, then drives to the dish. Arm action has moderate length in the back and is quick and whippy before coming through a high-¾ slot with some arm speed. Fastball was 80-81 at this event, but has been 81-83 multiple times before. Showed consistent arm-side run and located best to the arm-side. Curveball showed near 12/6 shape with some late depth and big shape, 63-65 mph, again commanded best to the arm side. Changeup showed consistent late fade, thrown with full arm speed, best commanded pitch, 70-71 mph. Overall, Hunt’s athleticism should allow him to continue to dial in his command and his advanced changeup will make him a commodity for colleges in the near future.
