10/27/19

A lean 5-foot-9, 155-pound frame with wiry strength and room to add more. On the mound, the right-hander works from a fluid and average tempo delivery with rhythm that he repeats well. Uses a smooth up, down, and out leg kick before striding down the mound and finishing towards the first base side. Arm action is long and controlled in back before coming through an over the top slot  with advanced arm-speed. Fastball keeps its plane at 82-84 mph touching 85, mostly strikes. Curveball shows 11/5 shape with tight spin and late depth at 71-74 mph, mostly strikes. In the game, Jones took a batter to find his timing then punched out three in a row.

The primary backstop featured a lean 5-foot-9, 155-pound frame with some room to add strength. The right-handed hitter begins in a tall, even stance using a leg-kick to initiate his swing. A fluid, repeatable swing allowed for a slightly uphill barrel path to enter the hitting zone. Generated some backspin by hitting into a stiff front side coupled with some sink into the lower half. In BP, shows a middle of the field approach with nearly all barrels. Registered an 84 mph bat-exit velocity from the tee and ran a 7.50 60-yard dash. Demonstrated adequate receiving skills with a soft glove hand at the catch point. Pop times ranged from 1.95-2.07 on throws of 74 mph from the crouch. Flashed solid straight line footwork and a quick transfer allowing for accurate throws on the bag out of a fluid, high ¾ arm-slot. The infielder played with a low center of gravity with range to both sides. Feet arrived on time creating advantageous hops while recording throws of 83 mph across the infield.

A  5-foot-9, 150-pound frame with plenty of room to add strength. On the mound, the right-hander works from an average tempo delivery with a moderate leg kick and coil at the top before fishishing slightly to the first base side. Arm action is clean and fluid in the back with moderate length before coming through a nearly over the top slot with some arm speed. Fastball keeps its plane at  81-83, touching 85 mph, mostly strikes.Curveball shows 12/6 shape with consistent late depth at 67-68 mph, thrown for strikes and as a chase pitch. Changeup shows some fade at 72-73 mph, some strikes. Slider has 10/4 shape with tight spin and late depth at 70-71 mph.

9-9-18
A developing 5-foot-9, 150-pound frame with plenty of room to add size and strength. On the mound, the right-hander works from a slightly up-tempo and athletic delivery with a moderate leg kick before driving down the mound. Arm action has moderate length and is very quick in the back before coming through a near over the top arm slot. Fastball keeps its plane at 80-81 mph. Curveball flashed big depth with near 12/6 shape at 71-72 mph. Also showed a slider and changeup in warm-ups. In the game, Jones faced five batters, striking out two and walking two.

A developing 5-foot-9, 150-pound frame with room to add size and strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a slightly open and back leg heavy set-up with rhythm throughout. Uses a small reverse toe-tap stride and hand load before launching his hands on a rotational and flat path to contact with a high finish. In BP, shows a middle of the field and flat approach, some barrels, 78 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.69 60. Defensively, sits low in the crouch with a rounded back and recieves with above average hands. Shows above average blocking as well keeping the ball in front and moving well laterally. Shows quick and clean actions on throw downs, using a short arm stroke coming through an over the top slot at 73 mph with some accuracy and showcase pop times of 2.02-2.15. Alos athletic enough to play in the infield. In the game, reached base one and put the ball in play hard on the ground twice.

A developing 5-foot-9, 150-pound frame with lots of room to add size and strength. On the mound, the right-hander works from an average tempo delivery with rhythm and excellent leg drive down the mound, finishing to the first base side with a recoil finish. Arm action is long, quick, and violent in the back before coming through a near over the top slot. Fastball keeps its plane at  80-83 mph and touches 84, some strikes. Curveball has 12/6 shape with some late depth at 73-74 mph. In the game, faced five batters, striking out two and allowing two walks and a hit. 

A developing 5-foot-9, 150-pound frame with plenty of room to add size and strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a slightly back leg heavy and slightly open set-up with rhythm in his hands. Uses a slow reverse toe-tap at times and a small hanging leg kick others, both with a moderate stride before launching his hands on a flat path through extension. In BP, shows a middle to pull and flat/ground approach, some barrels, 78 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.50 60. Defensively, shows average receiving and blocking. Throws down with quick actions, arm stroke is short and comes through a high-¾ slot with some arm speed and developing accuracy for showcase pop times of 2.02-2.15 seconds at 73 mph.   

12-16-18
A lean 5-foot-9, 150-pound frame with plenty of room to add size and strength. On the mound, the right-hander works from an average tempo delivery with rhythm and a moderate leg kick before striding to the dish with solid leg drive and finishing to the first base side. Arm action is long and fast in the back with a quick change of direction at the bottom of his arm stroke before coming through an over the top slot with arm speed. Fastball keeps its plane at 81-83 mph, almost all strikes, commanded to both sides of the dish. Changeup has consistent fade at 64-65 mph, commanded around the zone. Curveball has rolling and near 12/6 shape with gradual break at 63-66 mph, some strikes. Slider is thrown with moderate arm speed and shows tight spin with late depth at 68-69 mph.

Uses a moderate leg kick and stride with a hand load before launching them on a flat path through extension. In BP, shows a middle of the field and flat approach with occasional lift, some barrels early and mostly barrels late, 78 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.50 60. Defensively,  sits deep in the crouch with flexibility and shows slightly above average receiving and blocking. Throws with quick and short footwork and clean exchanges, uses a short arm stroke coming through an over the top slot with well above average accuracy at 73 mph for showcase pop times of 2.20-2.15.
