A lean 5-foot-11, 150-pound frame with lots of room to add size and strength. Works only out of the stretch, an up-tempo and smooth delivery with a high leg kick, repeats well. Arm circle is big and loose, high-3/4 slot, whippy out front with some arm speed. Fastball was 84-85 mph early in the innings cooling a bit to 82-83 later. Slider shows late bite with depth and 11/5 shape, 73-75 mph. In the game, had a quick inning of work, getting swings and misses on both the fastball and the slider.

Overall, Kouba will have big value for a staff at the next level with his ability to sink his fastball and spin his slider with more velo likely down the road.
