Yet another Cowboy who is a draft eligible sophomore by age, Martin relieved in the Friday and Monday games showing a heater up to 97 mph to go along with some sharp breaking pitches. It's easy heat, the kind that can project to triple-digits in the near future. Although he most often failed to land his curve or slider in the zone, he showed good feel to spin with tight, late action on both his 85-86 mph slider and 81 mph curve. During Friday's opener the 6-foot-3, 240-pounder pitched the ninth, striking out the side. His higher spin (2385-2450 rpm) heater sat 95-96 with great carry to the plate, staying above the swing. He also flashed a lower-spin (1933 rpm) changeup. With a low heart rate he looks to be a great fit as the Cowboy closer, but it will be tough for him to build a Top 50 overall pick resume in this role. His stuff looked worthy of top round consideration, but at this point in his second year of college his draft resume will need innings as a starter.

Cape Cod- Martin has an XL frame at 6-foot-5, 245 pounds along with a clean high three-quarters arm action. We got multiple reports that Martin was 94-98 mph at his best this summer, though his velocity was down in our viewing, sitting 92-94 in his first frame and dipping to 89-92 from the stretch, and in his second inning of work. Holliday suggested fatigue may have taken a bit of a toll on Martin at the end of a long freshman year, but his raw arm strength is evident. He was throwing more of a cutter/slider hybrid at the start of the summer, but he went to more of a true slider in Chatham, throwing it at 79-82 mph with bigger break. It wasn't a wipeout offering in our viewing, but he learned to throw it for a strike, which made him more effective. He also threw a below-average changeup in our look. Martin needs refinement, and the Cowboys will have to decide whether to build him up as a starter or have him let it fly in the bullpen, but he should be a valuable piece of their staff in either capacity.

The Oklahoma State commit has a physically impressive 6-foot-5, 225-pound frame with strength throughout. On the mound, the right-hander works from a controlled delivery with moderate up, down, and out leg kick before driving to the dish and finishing to the first base side. Arm action is clean and controlled in the back with some length before coming through a high-¾ arm slot with elite arm speed and strength. Fastball sits 88-92 mph with late life and occasional arm-side run, mostly strikes. Slider is elite at 80-81 mph with tight spin and very late 10/4 shape and explosive depth, thrown for a strike and a chase pitch. Changeup is another plus pitch, thrown with full arm speed and showing consistent late and heavy fade, almost all strikes.  

A physically advanced 6-foot-4, 195-pound frame with strength throughout. Works from an average tempo delivery with a high leg kick and glides down the mound. Arm action is full and clean in the back, coming through a high-3/4 slot with arm speed out front. Fastball shows consistent downhill tilt with occasional arm-side run, jumps on hitters, 85-89 mph. Slider shows 11/5-10/4 shape with late depth, 72-73 mph. Changeup has straight arm-side fade, 78-79 mph. In the game, Martin recorded five strikeouts in two innings along with two walks and a base hit.

A physically advanced 6-foot-4, 195-pound frame with some strength. Works from an abbreviated, controlled, and rhythmic delivery with a high leg kick that he repeats well. Arm circle is moderate and smooth coming through a high-3/4 slot with quickness out front. Fastball shows some downhill tilt, sitting 84-86 mph, mostly 86's. The breaking ball shows 11/5 curveball shape, but flashes late slider action at times. Showed a changeup that had slight fade in warm-ups at 76-79 mph. In the game, showed above average command with the fastball, retiring six of the seven batters he faced.

A 6-foot-3, 200-pound athletic frame. Easily one of the most physically advanced freshman in the state. Uses a simple delivery, high leg kick, glides to the dish, lands slightly closed,  spins to first base side on the finish. Full arm circle, drops the ball straight down out of the break, throws from a high-3/4, arm comes through with very little effort.  Fastball sits 83-85 mph with tilt and late run when down in the zone. Changeup sits 76-79 with sink and depth. Curveball shows gradual break with 11/5 shape, 69-70 mph.
