�25 RHP Ben Goodacre (Fieldhouse Pirates) got the start in Game One for Canada and worked a pair of innings. 6-foot-3, 170-pound frame with strength to come and works with an up-tempo delivery. Ran into some trouble in his first inning of work but settled in nicely during the second as he was generating swings/misses with the fastball up in the zone. Fastball sat 85-88mph (2450+), along with a curveball at 73-74mph with depth and changeup at 73mph. More of a fastball/curveball combination right now and his strike-throwing abilities should continue to improve as he develops mechanically on the mound. One of the more intriguing 2025 arms in Ontario and has impressed all year long.

2025 RHP Ben Goodacre (uncommitted) continues to show well this year each time we get eyes on him. Standing 6-foot-3, 170-pounds with a high arm slot, Goodacre put in five innings of work out of the bullpen, collecting seven strikeouts while allowing two runs on three hits. The fastball sat 85-87mph and he paired it with a slider that bite to it. Still developing feel for the changeup that had slight fade to it at times. Generated lots of weak contact, as well as swing and misses, due to his command of multiple pitches. A must-follow in Ontario�s 2025 class.

2025 RHP/OF Ben Goodacre continues to be one of the top arms at events where he takes the mound and that was the case again at the Ontario Youth Team Tryouts. Creates extension on the mound with a lengthy, projectable look at 6-foot-3, 170-pounds with a high-spin, three pitch-mix. The fastball sat 86-88mph with 2380+ rpm average and the curveball is the go-to secondary offering at 71-73mph (2310rpm avg. spin) with feel for it and the ability to work down with it. Flashed the slider twice at 75-76mph (2455 rpm avg.) with sweepy-action. Worked deep into counts at times on Saturday but was still efficient in picking up outs with swings/misses on both the fastball and breaking ball.

2025 RHP/OF Ben Goodacre was another one of the highly intriguing arms at Friday�s showcase. Impressed at the New Year Open back in February and continues to trend upwards. Lengthy, wiry and high-waisted frame at 6-foot-2, 170-pounds with a live and loose arm action. His fastball sat 87-89 T90 with good spin (2340rpm avg.) and creates some serious vertical break with 23.3 avg. IVB on the pitch. Curveball sat 71-73mph with both a vertical and horizontal look (Sweep+ of 102), along with a developing splitter at 75-76mph. Flashed his arm strength in the outfield working up to 93mph and generated a peak exit velocity of 88.3mph from the right-side of the dish. One of the higher upside arms in Ontario�s 2025 class.

Goodacre was the main attraction on the mound at the Ontario New Year Open. Standing 6-foot-2, 170-pounds, Goodacre looks right on the mound and has the stuff to back it up. He worked downhill  86-88 T89.5 with the FB that showed life through the zone (2349 avg rpm, 21.9 IVB) and a 2-plane breaking ball (2319 avg rpm) and a SPL. Goodacre showed offseason improvement and is primed for a big summer. He will be a strong follow on the mound in the 2025 class.
