2.19.18 2020 grad at 6-foot-2, 175-pounds with present strength and size for age. Zweig ran a best 60 time of 7.38 with regular effort. At the plate, hits from balanced position, hands have pause in separation, barreled a few swings as he gets the barrel out front and stayed through the middle, chance to create more with some added rhythm in swing, exit velocity was 86 mph. Clean in the outfield and approached and worked through the ball, Zweig is a player to follow this summer as a 2020 grad with size and actions to work with.
11.3.17 Size for the 2020 grad Zweig at 6-foot-2, 175-pounds and room to carry more. Ran a laser timed 7.35 sixty. At the plate, right-handed bat with good path to baseball and line drives during his BP round while showing bat speed and exit velocity of 85 mph which is above average for age. On the mound, body projects and is able to work downhill from high-3/4 slot. Fastball topped out at 78 with run while he flashed an 11/5 curveball with spin and depth, good feel and chance for that to be quality off-speed pitch. Zweig keeps getting better every time we see him, upside and more strength in his future, few adjustments away from taking off in 2018.
2/20/17 Two-way prospect, 6-foot-2, 175-pounds. Lean frame but as a 2020 he should fill out in the next couple of years. Ran a 7.65 in the 60-yard dash with regular effort. Worked out at first base and off the mound. Defensively strong arm with carry across the diamond at top velocity of 75 mph. Footwork and body control can improve with timing of hands. At the plate, starts with wide stance, small leg kick and load of hands. Easy swing, stays balanced, got the barrel out front at times, better when extension stayed through baseball, shows gap to gap power, but there’s pull side power with added strength. On the mound he has a clean delivery, throws with ¾ arm slot. Hit 78 mph with his fastball and threw pitch for strikes. Curveball was 65-66 mph with 11-5 movement while his changeup at 71 mph. Showed the ability to throw both for strikes. Could be an interesting follow as he develops, refines game and adds strength. 60-Yard Dash: 7.65 Exit Velocity: 83 INF Velocity: 75
10/23/16 Young 2020 grad with lean, long frame for age class at 6-foot-1, 165-pounds. Offensively, hits from wide stance, relaxed upper half with loose hands, rock back to load with small front foot stride, works to stay inside ball through swing, found barrell with few swings, more in body to add strength to swing, exit velocity was 72 mph while he ran a 4.78 down the line from the right side. Defensively, adequate defender, made all the plays while getting around the double play ball holding runners on. Arm was clocked at 68 mph from first to third. On the mound, Zweig worked from high-3/4 arm slot with clean arm action in the back. Fastball topped out at 74 mph while curveball had 12/6 shape that he threw for strikes at 61 mph and changeup had fade at 65 mph. Velocity there for age, more to come as he continues to develop, good foundation for Zweig overall. Home - 1st: 4.78 Exit Velocity: 72 INF Velocity: 68
