Thomson, a 5-foot-8, 120-pound infielder, was an attendee at Titans scout day. He has continued to improve at the plate; swing is short and contact-oriented, he was up to 80 mph. He had no problem getting his bat head out front and making solid contact. Will make the routine plays in the infield, hands work cleanly, smooth transfer, with accurate throws.
4/07/19
Young 2022 grad with room for future strength gains. Thomson showed some quickness in his swing from the right side of the plate, simple stroke with more hands oriented, can incorporate lower half to gain strength in swing but the path plays and worked more to his pull side in BP. Defensively, fields balls off his right leg, does a good job getting rid of the ball and going to both sides, strength will be a big key for Thomson as he continues to develop.
