Chung is one of the more efficient arms in Ontario’s 2026 class with strike-throwing abilities and a three-pitch mix. Smaller stature at 5-foot-9, 175-pounds and works with tempo/pace on the mound, generating plenty of ground balls and soft contact. The fastball sat 81-84mph, although we’ve seen him in the mid-80s, along with a breaking ball at 70-72 with tight vertical look and changeup at 74-75mph. Reliable arm who continues to get the job done on the mound with pitchability and changing speeds.
2/19/24
Very impressive showing from 2026/27 two-way Ramsey Chung on Monday who is quickly establishing himself as one of the stronger players in Ontario’s 2026 class. On the hill, his showing was accentuated by a mid-80s (T86) fastball with some ride through the zone (18.6in. of average IVB). The slider plays as a secondary offering, living 72-74mph with a solid movement profile and is a pitch that he can locate. At just 5-foot-9, 175-pounds, Chung does an exceptional job of creating separation within a violent, yet athletic delivery. Offensively, it’s a concise load with an efficient bat path and strong front side that propelled Ramsey to a consistent round of BP, in which the exit velocity averaged 85.6mph and reached a high of 92.8mph. A highly talented two-way player to circle as he continues to refine his craft.
2/10/24
This was our first look ‘26 RHP/SS Ramsey Chung this year and he’s developed well since the Jr. Future Games in late July. Despite the smaller stature at 5-foot-9, 175-pounds, Chung’s arm speed immediately stands out on the mound and ranks towards the top of the class. The fastball sat 84-85 T86 and filled up the zone with it, while also showing feel for a slider and changeup. Chung flashed some of the better stuff we’ve seen from the 2026 class to-date and will be an arm to follow college coaches to track this summer as August 1st approaches.
4/07/23
Chung (HPP Tigers) stood out with high two-way upside. Strong 5-foot-7, 150-pound frame with a strength in the lower-half that moves well down the mound. A quick, clean arm action that sits low-3/4 with a good three-pitch mix for his age. His fastball sits 80mph, paired with a slider that touches 2400+ spin rate at times. The changeup is still developing some feel but can develop into a quality pitch as he matures. Swinging the bat, Chung has a tight and compact swing, showing a strong ability to pull the baseball for some power, averaging 80.5mph exit velocity and peaking out at 85.8mph for the day.
