Physical: 6-foot-2, 205 pounds; long, athletic build. 7.54 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Balanced, slightly open stance; low leg lift gaining ground back to even while hands take a short load back. strong effort against a balanced front side with slight uphill path staying on plane through the zone; 16 degree bat angle into the zone via Blast Motion. Posey is able to produce 12.9 G’s of force with an on-plane efficiency of 74%.  Consistent solid contact through the middle of the field with lift to the pull side; average Trackman exit velocity of 76.19 MPH; peak exit velo was 99 MPH.
Defensively: Balanced and low to the ground; athletic foot work getting in line to the target. soft glove with a clean transfer; short arm action with quick release getting back spin on accurate throws. 1.91-2.00 pop times. C - 74 MPH. INF - 78 MPH.

2/23/20

Demonstrated feel for a physically advanced 6-foot-2, 200-pound frame with noticeable strength in his actions. The right-handed hitter begins with a bent, open stance utilizing a controlled lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. Generated quality hand speed through a slightly uphill barrel path allowing for loud, natural pull-side lift during batting practice. Created backspin to all fields using a strong and powerful lower half and hitting into a stiff front side. Recorded an impressive 92 mph bat-exit velocity and ran a 7.43 60-yard dash. The primary backstop showed off solid receiving skills with minimal glove hand movement at the catch point. Pop times ranged from 2.00-2.07 on accurate throws of 72 mph from the crouch out of an accurate high ¾ arm-slot. Displayed repeatable straight line footwork using strength in the lower half and smooth transfers from glove to hand created consistent throws on the bag. Featured comfortability while blocking, flashing soft walls with downward chest angles on both sides of the plate. The third baseman played moderately low to the ground with a soft glove hand playing loose out in front. Notched an accurate 76 mph arm-strength across the diamond out of a repeatable, high ¾ arm-slot.

2/16/19

6-foot-1, 185-pound right-handed hitter starts from a wide, slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride. Showed a flat barrel path through the hitting zone and an ability to use all fields. Registered a bat exit velocity of 88 mph and ran a 7.54 60-yard dash. Showcased 71 mph arm strength out of the crouch with a top pop time of 2.15. Athletic, projectable frame with room to add strength. Player to watch in this class.

9/30/18

Defensively, as catcher flashes soft, confident glove hand in receiving and framing. Presents soft, square wall in blocking with excellent range and athleticism for size and age. Feet are in sync with clean quick, transfer and arm action in recording pop time of 2.21 on throw of 70 mph out of the crouch. Defensively, at third base funnels bottom up and out front with soft, quick glove hand. Feet are active to and through the baseball while follow throw of 68 mph across the diamond.

Offensively, 6-foot-180 pound, right-handed hitter initiates swing from slightly open set up with short stride to neutral. Separation is solid. Weight shift and hip turn are aggressive. Bat is swung with intent and path allows it to spend extended time in the zone. Posey turned in a solid round of bp flashing ability to use all fields. A bat exit velocity of 86 mph was registered. Overall, Posey reconfirmed his previous evaluation as a follow in the class of 2022.

9/15/18

Defensively, behind the dish flashes solid flexibility in providing a low, wide target. Glove hand is quiet and confident in receiving and framing. Presents soft wall, good trunk angle and considerable range in blocking. Recorded 2.15 pop time on throw of 66 mph. Defensively, at third base works bottom up and out front. Feet and hands work well. Transfer is clean with high arm slot on throws consistent with primary position of catcher.

Offensively, 6-foot 180 pound, right-handed hitter initiates swing from open set up with short, controlled stride to neutral. Separation is adequate. Swing is connected with short, direct path to the baseball. Weight shift and hip turn are aggressive. Bat path is flat with barrel feel demonstrated in consistent squaring of baseball. A bat exit velocity of 84 mph was recorded. Overall, Posey projects as a definite follow in the class of 2022.
